Sweeney Todd....the play

on April 5, 2009 - 12:55pm

I saw where Sweeney Todd the play was coming to the stage here in Knoxville. Reagan LOVED the movie, so I decided to get tickets.

I loved the movie too. Gah! Tickets were 65 bucks a piece! It's only one night.

The review said the storyline was a tad different than the movie.

It'll be fun. I haven't seen a play in awhile.

I'll let ya know if it was good. ;)

An April Fool

on April 2, 2009 - 4:10pm

I was at work yesterday during a slow moment. We were all sitting up front and I thought it would be funny to text Robert and tell him the head hanchos were all here having a meeting. There may be layoffs, yada, yada.

He texted back..."Yikes...Hope it's not you".

I texted him back saying "I'm scared." "It looks like it may be me and Melinda."

He was buying into it hook line and sinker. My last text said "It really doesn't look good for me."

He texted "You've been a good employee, hopefully they will consider that."

Then I said "APRIL FOOLS!"

His reply was:

"U bitty! Not funny! PB's are hell!"

We all cracked up! Then I wondered what "PB's" were.

Oh right...paybacks.

That scared me a little, because Robert's paybacks are definitely hellacious. It's almost not worth the initial joke. He cannot stand to be HAD.

Later in the day I got a text from Robert that said:
"Ms. Shelton passed away today. Her son just called me. Riley will be so upset at the news."

My heart dropped to my knees for a split second. Ms. Shelton is our little sweet neighbor. We love her so much.

Then it hit me immediately that it was complete BS.

I texted him and said "You jerk. I didn't bring DEATH into my april fools joke!!!"

He never confirmed or denied it. THEN when he got home he went as far as to tell Riley he had some bad news.

I said "I swear, if you tell him Ms. Shelton died I will wreck you!!"

He just laughed and huffed off.

He's still being ornery about it. This morning I asked him to throw me a bagel into the toaster oven along with his.
When I grabbed it on my way out the door, it had a perfect bite mark out of it.

He won't leave it alone until he feels like he's sufficiently payed me back.

heh!! Big baby!!

Don't....

on March 29, 2009 - 12:00pm

try to roller skate when you're 41 years old.

I'm so sore today. I took Riley to a friends B-day party yesterday. I was goaded into skating with "the girls". So I put on my size 10 skates. I did a practice run on the sideline of the rink, then out we all went.

I said "Riley whatever you do, do NOT grab onto me or I'll fall and crush your guts out."

We went around the first couple of times no problem. It was a bit shakey, but I had it under control. Not nearly as limber as I was in my teenage years.

Then Riley rolls up behind me and grabs the pockets of my jeans. It all went in slo-mo from there.

"Riiiiilllleeeyyyyy, leeeet GOOOOOO, I'm gonna FAAAAALLLLL"

BOOM.

That lack of control is the worst thing ever. There was nothing to grab on to.

And I'm here to tell ya....fallin' at 40 is a whole lot different than fallin' when you're 13.

I landed on my backside, wrists behind me. My head whipped back and barely missed the floor. Riley was to the side of me and my rear managed to land on his shin.

I just layed there for a second. When I looked up, 2 guys were rolling over to me to make sure I was ok. I sat up and said "I'm fine....I'm ok."
Then I tried to get up and I looked up to one guy and said "Can you help me up?" LOL!!

I managed to roll over to the sideline. My wrist was killin' me.

That wasn't enough, I had to go back out a few more times.

I finally said to my friends "I don't love you guys enough to go around one more time....my knees and my back are done."
They had all wiped out too.

What cracked me up more than anything was a couple of guys older than us. You can tell they had visited Skatetown USA every Saturday since they were kids. They just NEVER moved on in life.

These guys were hot rodding in and out and boogying to the music, going backwards and moonwalking.
We were just jealous. LOL!

As the night went on, my wrist kept hurting more and more. I could move it, so I knew it wasn't broken, just wrenched real good. Minor whiplash this morning....aches and pains.
Nothing that a little ibuprofen won't take care of I suppose.

Just...next time...I hope I remember that my body is not as immature as my brain. LOL!

A croc....

on March 24, 2009 - 3:51pm

I just bought my first pair of Crocs this past weekend. Mary Janes to be exact and I really do love them. I can't believe I waited so long to get any. I wear them with my scrubs at work. One reason I waited so long to get any is because I figured with my size 10's it would be like ski's on my feet, but I haven't tripped the first time.

:)

on March 22, 2009 - 6:51pm

Spring break is officially at an end here. I have run my legs off here and there with the kids.

Or actually I should say I've driven all over the place. I felt like a bus driver this week.

Reagan and her little friends at the mall and the park. All boys of course. A few girls here and there.

Now one of the boys she's been hanging out with told her last night he really liked her. She is tickled pink and just giddy all day.

Today I told everyone that I wasn't taking anyone anywhere. It was time for mom to relax.

Not much going on in Joshland. I love the quiet before the chaos. The anticipation of his new album is building with me. I know it will be gorgeous.

I've purposely not listened to Josh for awhile, just so I can get that thrill again when I listen to him.
