2009

on January 1, 2009 - 10:00am

So...one more holiday gathering...my dad and stepmother are coming today...and then we can put away all the Christmas decorations! I didn't think I'd be ready to take it all down, but I am. We're going to hopefully do all that tomorrow evening after they leave.

I usually make a bunch of New Year's resolutions every year, but I began making lots of changes in my life last spring. Well, I am always trying to improve myself ("learn better, do better")... I'm focusing right now on getting plenty of rest until baby comes, finishing up 'unfinished projects', and keeping the house relatively straight. After baby gets here, I'm planning on focusing on him, the girls, and Craig...then around April (when I'm supposed to start back to Weight Watchers), it'll be getting myself back into shape so I can be healthy for myself and my family...

It's almost noon, and I'm still in my pj's (seems to be becoming a regular occurrance for me! LOL). I'm gonna go change, put my face on, and get ready for my dad to get here...(my brother's girls are with them and are planning on surprising my girls...it'll be fun for them!)

Anyway, once again...HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!

Just popping in

on December 31, 2008 - 7:55am

Well, I was just popping in here for a bit to try to catch up on everyone's journal entries. I have managed to finally gather most of the paperwork to be ready when we turn our taxes in to our guy. It wasn't easy, because it seemed like every time I tried to start, something else would take priority. So, since I've been having contractions for the past couple of afternoons (not labor--just practice! haha) that's what I've been working on.

We don't have plans for our New Year's Eve. I'm looking forward to just playing games with the girls after we get in from our regular Bible Study tonight. We'll ring in the New Year and then go to bed! :)

Well, I'm going to go change out of my pj's and get to scrapbooking with the girls! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Happy New Year, everyone!!!

Finally!

on December 28, 2008 - 10:58am

I was finally able to SUCCESSFULLY submit a ticket to FOJG about not being able to access the boards! For over a month, every time I sent an e-mail to someone or tried to submit a ticket, the e-mails would be returned to me and the tickets seemed to be "thrown out"...I don't know why...but as long as it gets fixed this time, I don't care! I don't go on the boards much anymore anyway, but often would check in to be sure I didn't have any pm's. Plus, there are some pm's I was wanting to send to a few people with my new home e-mail address... Especially with no other form of contact than through the computer, I want my friends to be able to contact me if I'm needed for anything!

Yesterday's weather was soooo uncomfortable! I think the high was in the low 70s, and the humidity was at 100%--it did storm last night, and with that front that came in, the cooler air did too. But with the indoor temperature almost 80, we still had to turn on the air conditioner for a while! It was bad enough for everyone here, but with me being 8-1/2 months pregnant I thought I'd smother before I got cooled off! Crazy for December...

Well, going to go work on that filing now...and maybe a nap...and probably some lunch...LOL...I'll make up my mind at some point! hahaha

Hope everyone has a great week.

Ahhhhh!

on December 27, 2008 - 9:16am

I think I've caught up on my sleep!!! At least for now! After running on "E" for the past couple of days, I was able to sleep in this morning...the girls stayed with their cousins at their grandparents' last night. We're going to get them in just a little bit.

We had a nice Christmas. Nothing too hectic at all. My mom got in a tizzy a time or two--nothing new--but all in all it was a very relaxed, enjoyable holiday. My dad and step-mother are coming next week to visit...we haven't been able to see them yet.

The girls all got digital cameras and age-appropriate scrapbooking supplies from Santa...Cassidy's camera is perfect for her--it's a Crayola digital...she calls it her "Kodacamera". LOL How she even has ever heard of a "Kodak" camera I'll never know...the other two got Sanyo's! Kara was told before Santa ever came that she has a natural talent for photography...so when she saw her camera, she was thrilled. Riley is quite sure she's all grown up now...even though hers and Kara's cameras are identical.

Anyway, it seems kind of funny that it's almost 2009 already. In the next 2 days--before the Christmas decorations are even put up--I'm going to get all the tax stuff together. Since I don't know when baby boy's coming for sure, I had better have everything already lined up for Craig to take in to our tax guy...Then as soon as we get the W-2s, we can go ahead and turn in our taxes. The faster they go in, the faster we get our money back! And after having another baby, I'm sure we'll have plenty of bills to pay off!

Well, I'd better go put my face on and make myself presentable...time to go get the kiddies!

Waiting on Santa...

on December 24, 2008 - 10:32pm

Well, the kids are all nestled, snug in their beds...or something like that, anyway. With all their stuffed animals they keep with them, it's hard to believe there's much room to be comfortable...LOL They went very willingly to bed--they know Santa can't come if they're still awake. However, my 9-year-old...who, to my knowledge, still whole-heartedly believes in Santa...came in here a little bit ago to ask why we were still awake and how could Santa come if we were up. I just told her that it was the same as every other night; we wait up until they're asleep and we know they don't need anything else before we go to bed. What else could I have said??? It might would be very different if I thought she knew otherwise, but this is the kid who almost cried earlier when she messed up decorating the special cookie she made for Santa!

Myself, however? I was ready for bed at 9 o'clock! Growing a baby is hard work on a body as it is, but add the hustle and bustle of the holidays and you feel like you have been kicked in the head by lunch time! LOL I'll live...

Well, it's almost time for Santa to come, so I'd better go. Hope everyone's holidays are wonderful. And I still wish someone would send at least some of that snow this way! ONLY the snow, though...I would rather not go into labor and be in the middle of an ice storm! EEEEK at that THOUGHT alone!!!
