ummmmm

on April 24, 2008 - 12:12pm

I rarely know what to write in the 'title' box! Can you really give random thoughts a title??? Hmmmm. I don't know.

What beautiful weather we're having!!! I think it's possibly going to rain later, but that's okay since that way I won't have to water the garden!!!

I'm just a tad bit hyper today...can't really stand to sit still for long...that's good, I guess, but at some point I would like to REALLY catch up around here!!! I'm looking forward to the not-so-distant-future when I get my new laptop. Then I'll be connected almost anywhere and will be able to stop in at odd moments throughout the day. Right now, the computer's in my room upstairs, away from the rest of civilization around my house. That can be very good at times. Very bad at others.

'Nuff of my ramblin'. Hope everyone has a great day!

It's been a while!

on April 21, 2008 - 11:56am

Well, it's been so long since I've posted that I don't even know how long ago it was! I feel badly that I've missed out on everything all of you have posted about; I'll try to forgive myself for being a little negligent as a friend! I will say, though, that I have accomplished SO MUCH since I've been away from the boards. Not that being away is what helped--not at all! LOL I just really needed to search for some answers and find them on my own. I will say I have so much to learn, but I have made enormous strides in growing into more of who I really want to be. I have also purged so much JUNK from my house! Getting rid of both mind clutter AND physical clutter is so freeing! I feel like I can finally breathe in my own home AND in my own skin! I actually get excited to face the day every morning when I wake up. Not only have I "organized" (meaning-made it functional!) most of the house, I have also (with some help from the family) cleaned up the yard, raked all the leaves, etc., planted a garden, worked in my flower beds, drew plans for our deck (to be started building this weekend I HOPE), redecorated my 2 younger daughters' room, and gathered so much stuff for a yard sale that will be held as soon as we have both a free weekend and one without rain in the forecast! I have begun losing weight again (took a break from that, too, apparently after the first 2 months of the year--won't go into emotional details!), exercising, and taking time out for ME. It would be wonderful to spend some of that "me time" in LONDON!!! Yep. Crossing my fingers for those contest tickets to Chess!!!

Anyway, you all are definitely not forgotten. I think of you all the time, and hope that I will soon find myself with more time and opportunity to share in conversation here.

(((HUGS))) to all and wishes for a wonderful week!!! ;)

Edited to add: I just looked back and saw that it's been right at a month since I posted last! SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED!!! Not just the personal growth, but the "bad stuff" that started its necessity in motion! I have thought of some other things I'd like to share here, but I think if I wait 'til I have a little more time. 'Bye for now!

wonderful news

on March 19, 2008 - 5:41am

Right before I went to bed last night, I found out that my daughter's friend who was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the school year got the results to her PET scan. NO CANCER LEFT!!!! They're checking today to see what size the tumor is now (no living cancer cells), so she does have some more tests to undergo. However, the important part is knowing the relief her family must be feeling now!

Well, off to get groceries today! Hope everyone has a great day!

pERSPECTIVE

on March 18, 2008 - 8:41am

It is so amazing to see things play out in life sometimes. So many small, but good things have happened in the past couple of days. Just small acts of kindness toward me from friends (both old and new) that seem to happen just at the moment I needed them most. I AM SO THANKFUL. I have everything to be thankful for. My faith, my family, my friends. The real things in life. Oh. And of course, the one thing that speaks to or about all 3 of those things. Josh's music! I guess it's safe to say some of my faith in humanity has been restored! Sometimes things appear so dark--until someone sheds light on them. And then, of course, it helps when PMS isn't interfering!!! hahahaha

I have managed to sort through about 5 large rubbermaid containers full of stored kids clothes (with 3 girls, you just can't toss it when another can wear it later!) as well as 3 dressers full in the past 18 hours. Add to that about 15 loads of laundry in the past 2 days, and you get one tired woman!!! However, it feels good to have finally gotten to it. I've had it on my mind for over two weeks now since our weather has gotten warmer (with the exception of one snow day, that is!). I still have to sort through my own clothes, but know I pretty much have to get rid of most of it and buy new since I've lost weight. YAY!!! Looks like I have a shopping spree to plan!

Guess I need to get back at it!
