Steven, presale info, Dancing with the Stars, & snow

on April 18, 2007 - 9:09am

Steven came home yesterday. After not seeing him for two years I was really excited to see him. His plane got canceled and so we were waiting at the airport for over two hours. The plane was canceled on his end but only delayed here in Salt Lake. It was really weird seeing him because he looks the same.

They announced the presale!!! Yeah! When I logged on this morning I saw “Attention Friends of Josh Groban: We’re excited to announce the ticket presale for the Second leg of the Awake US Tour 2007.” and I freaked out. There is only one problem with the announcement…it doesn’t have the date! No one knows when it is going to be. It sounds like it is going to be fun and nerve wracking at the same time. I can’t wait until I get tickets! I need a job so I can afford them.

So I haven’t written my review of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ yet. I got to see Tony dance one more time. He and Elena did the Samba on the How to Guide. Maks and Cheryl did the Rumba.

Week Five…
1) Ian and Cheryl. He is doing a good job. I think he is going to go far. I think Cheryl is starting to get a fan base too. They got 8:8:8 from the judges. Dance: Samba. Song: Dance Like This by Wyclef Jean featuring Claudette Ortiz.
2) Clyde and Elena. I think that Clyde is too tall for this competition. He looks too stiff. Elena is so little next to him. I don’t agree with the scores. Fours…that was too harsh. They got 4:5:4 from the judges. Dance: Rumba. Song: What's Going On by Marvin Gaye.
3) Heather and Jonathan. Jonathan got his chest waxed! lol Now he knows what a waxing feels like. She fell down and the end. Jonathan looked really concerned. lol she was very graceful about it. They got 7:7:7 from the judges. Dance: Samba. Song: Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel by Tavares.
4) Joey and Kym. Lance Bass came in to help him. Yeah, that’s great. When all else fails get a gay guy to help you dance. lol I like this song. I like Andrea Bocelli’s version better. It’s awesome! They got 8:8:9 from the judges. Dance: Rumba. Song: Besame Mucho by João Gilberto.
5) John and Edyta. According to the pattern he is going to be voted off this week. This song reminds me of ‘So She Dances’ at the beginning. He looks like he is really trying though. They got 6:6:6 from the judges. Dance: Samba. Song: Love Is In The Air by John Paul Young.
6) Laila and Maks. Laila’s fiancé was really funny. Maks looked scared. lol He is a very good actor. lol I really liked their dance. It was very good. “No Maks is going to get hurt during the making of this dance.” lol That’s funny, Maks. They got 9:10:9 from the judges. Dance: Rumba. Song: Put Your Records On by Corinne Bailey Rae.
7) Apolo and Julianne. Hey, this song is in ‘Madagascar’. I think Apolo was amazing. He deserved the score he got. They got 10:10:10 from the judges. The first perfect score of the season! Dance: Samba. Song: I Like To Move It by Reel 2 Real.
8) Billy Ray and Karina. He can’t dance. Poor Karina is trying so hard to teach him. They got 6:6:5 from the judges. Dance: Rumba. Song: What's Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner.

Clyde Drexler and Elena Grinenko were voted off. That surprises me because I thought that Clyde would have a bigger fan base than some of the other contestants.

It’s snowing right now! I don’t want it to snow. It is April and it is supposed to be sunny with lots of colorful flowers. Grrr!! Stupid weather! Hopefully it is the last snow strom that we get.

Our first game console

on April 16, 2007 - 9:37am

Friday the Thirteenths are usually a bad luck day. For my family it was a good one. We got our first game console. When my parents told us a few weeks ago that they were going to get one we were shocked. They have always told us that if we wanted one, we had to pay for it ourselves. They asked us if we wanted a PS3 (PlayStation 3) or a Wii. My brothers did some research on both and we decided that the Wii would be better for our family. So, for weeks we have looked everywhere for one. Today Mom found one and she bought it. She didn’t tell anyone until dinnertime. Brian was really excited because he has played one before. We all did our chores really fast and then started to play the Wii. We started by making everyone a Mii. Brian made his first. He made himself bald with no eyelashes. It really looks like him. lol Eric made his second and then I made mine. Mom and Dad said that they would make theirs later. We played some sports. It was really hard to get used to the controller. Tennis is my favorite game so far. But I wish you could play single player. That would be more fun. Right now you can only play doubles. There is also bowling, baseball, golf, and boxing. We haven’t played boxing yet. I want to see what you can do with photos. I also want to make a Josh Groban Mii. That would be fun.

showcase

on April 13, 2007 - 12:49pm

Last night my school had a showcase thing. I thought it was a lot of fun. There is one guy that did a piano solo of a song called “The Japanese Special”. I didn’t recognize it at first but then he started playing it and I started to laugh…he was playing Mario Brothers. These other two guys did a skit entitled “Who’s in first?” and it was really confusing and funny. Some guy did an interactive thing which was really fun. He was cute. One girl sang a solo which I thought was really good. She can really sing. Two girls did a Bolivian dance which I really enjoyed. One girl sang “A New Life” piano solo. I really liked the song. I have never heard it before. She sings really well.

About halfway through the show one guy got up and sang “February Song”. I freaked out. lol That is Josh’s song! He did a really good job. I was trying not to sing along and burst out laughing. I never have heard someone sing Josh Groban’s music before. It was quite a surprise to me when it was announced.

The choir sang at the end of the showcase. We sang six songs. One of them was “You Raise Me Up”. I thought that was going to be the only Josh song of the night. We did an ok job of singing. Considering that we sounded horrible when we first started singing. I still like Josh’s version better.

Thursday Surprise

on April 12, 2007 - 3:18pm

The Thursday Surprise is so cute today! I was surprised that it was up so early. Usually, I have to watch it on Friday s because it gets put up so late. It is Josh and his dog, Sweeney, playing at the park. It is so cute. I am glad to see that Josh has fun on his tour. He doesn’t just work all the time. After I watched it for a few times I listened to the two women in the background. lol Their conversation is funny. They are talking about a dog menu at a restaurant. “Josh ordered…in this restaurant they have a dog menu.” “They have a dog menu?” That’s all you can hear but I thought it was hilarious. I wonder who those people are. And who is filming? It would be really fun to follow Josh Groban around and film him doing different things. The song at the beginning is really funny. “It’s just me and my dog, it’s just me and my dog.” Then Sweeney runs away from Josh and he starts to sing, “It’s just me, now it’s just me and my toys.” Josh reminded me of my brother when he was talking in the video. And I love the outfit. The hat I think I have seen before, and I loved it then, and I love it now. Sweeney is such a cute dog. I have never really seen him before. I hope he comes to SLC with Josh. Maybe I can see him there. That would be fun. I was impressed that Sweeney will lie on has back with his stomach exposed. That is a sign of a very submissive dog. Josh is the dominate one. lol I didn’t know Sweeney was so big. He comes up to Josh’s knees. It is so cute when Sweeny is looking at the camera and then Josh calls him and he runs over to him. Sweeney loves Josh very much. I am glad that they take care of each other. The video has been on repeat for and I still laugh at it. It is my favorite video so far.
