Hey Guys...and Happy Anniversary!

on July 8, 2008 - 4:43pm

Hey guys, I am finally back from my annual summer trip to San Antonio and boy, did I need it! Anyway, while I was there my best friend (Julie) and I did manage to make it to four movies and to dinner so that was nice. And for those that have been wondering...I (mistakenly) missed the ticket selling day for the Celine Dion concert and now they're sold out. However, I did get really lucky and was able to get some good seats for the Celtic Thunder concert in November so that should be fun! BTW, you will be surprised to hear that June 22nd was my one-year anniversary with FOJG. So I want to thank all those that have read and responded to my journal and basically supported me with their kind words and wishes. I also want to send a special "shout out" to my friend and mentor Nessa7 whose help and patience really helped pull me through the first year. And for that I will always be grateful. So thanks again, guys! I really appreciate it. Now on to the second... Have a good night and take care!

A Fantastic Discovery!

on June 2, 2008 - 4:34am

Guys, I just had to tell you about a fabulous new group I just discovered called Celtic Thunder. Essentially, it's a five-guy group that are something like Il Divo except that they are Irish (I believe). Anyway, they are so fabulous that I think they should open for Josh on his next tour or at least work with him on his next album. Anyway, just go to Amazon.com to sample their music to see what I mean. It does however, create a problem for me! They are touring in November so I have a choice between seeing them (on November 22nd) or Celine Dion (on January 7th). Anyway, check them out and give me an opinion on what I should do. BTW, make sure you check out the song "SHE" . You will love it!

Thank You!

on May 6, 2008 - 1:28pm

Well guys, you won't believe this but...my birthday nearly got ruined yet again! After my birthday got ruined last year because of my depression, I really wanted to make up for it this year. I had actually planned to go to dinner but get this...The weather (of course) decided that it had to downpour and so that was "out". Now for the good news...I want to say a special "Thank You" to Nessa7 and FlippedOverJosh02 for their birthday wishes and for getting the "ball rolling". Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! I also received (at the same time) two birthday cards: one from my mom and one from a special friend. My mom's included money (which I really needed) and the other had a nice "birthday wish" and a picture of Josh's beautiful face on it (which of course, moved me to tears). Okay, so you're wondering about the dinner...basically my provider drove-thru and got me some seafood from Long John Silver's. Anyway, that was a nice alternative to actually going somewhere. So, thanks again guys for getting the "ball rolling" on what turned out to be a "Low-key" but still a really nice birthday.

What A Month!

on May 3, 2008 - 12:41pm

What a month May is going to be! Where do I start? Okay, how about this? I have three birthdays to celebrate: Mine (on the 5th), my best friend Julie's (on the 7th) and my good friend and "mentor" in "all things Josh", Nessa7's birthday later this month. In addition to that is Mother's Day on the 11th and get this...Josh's "Awake Live" album releases The Day After my birthday! Can you believe that? Do you think he's trying to tell me something? However, not all is fun..I also have to fill out my HUD (or low-income housing) paperwork and that is a real drag. Especially since you have to provide proof of everything. Anyway, it's a trade-off...I wouldn't have my own place if it weren't for them. Have a great weekend, guys and take care!

It Really Makes You Think...

on April 16, 2008 - 1:25pm

I received some sad news yesterday...For a while now, I've been watching a reality show on Bravo called Work Out. Well, I missed the second season last year so I watched the marathon yesterday to catch up only to receive some sad news. One of the trainers on the show named Doug, who had just turned 44, had passed away from kidney failure. His parents had also passed away when they were 43 so he was understandably worried. Before he became sick, he said to one of the trainers that he wasn't going to have another birthday party. Thankfully though, the show did manage to film him celebrating his 44th birthday with his friends and trainers. Shortly, after that he started taking his ex-boyfriend to get his dialysis (he had kidney problems as well) when he became sick himself. That's the last we saw of him. He ended up in the hospital and eventually passed away. They didn't show the funeral but they did show the trainers gather together to memorialize him. So, why am I posting this? Because it hits close to home. It doesn't help that I'm also 43 with my 44th birthday right around the corner and with all the health problems I've had it's nothing short of a miracle that I'm still here. Anyway, something like this really makes you think and puts your life in perspective doesn't it? I just hope he's resting in peace because he was a really caring and giving person and the world was lucky to have him.
