The Power of The Josh...

on October 21, 2007 - 8:36pm

Today, I couldn't help but think about Josh (as are we all!) and the "Power" he's had on my life as well as others. You have probably guessed that I'm a "late bloomer" or "apprentice Grobanite" if you will...I didn't see him on Ally McBeal, The Olympics, or even his PBS Specials. Josh first "appeared" to me over the radio singing "To Where You Are" and since then whether his music played over the radio at home, a movie theater, a shopping mall, wherever... I would (and still do) start choking up or shedding tears. Needless to say, there were (and still are) times when I have to try to "keep it together" to keep from embarrasing myself. So, even though I believe that he means as much to me as he does to everyone else, I finally became fully aware of his "Power" through the music of his Awake album. So, even though he's always been with me (over the radio and on television) I've finally become aware of his "presence" and have "woken up" in more ways than one! BTW, sometimes when I'm in public and I hear his music it seems like he's following me! You know...For example, like when you spend the day running errands and everywhere you go you hear him singing! It's like he's by your side the whole time. Or at least singing in your ear... (but then that would be wishful thinking, wouldn't it?) LOL!

All Hail King Josh!

on October 17, 2007 - 5:08pm

Well folks, he did it! I bought two copies of the Special Edition of Noel (one for my stereo and one for my dvd player) and not only is he adorable on the dvd but the CD is as beautiful as he is! Did I also mention that it's transcendent? His voice just lifts you up and sweeps you away! BTW, if your Target doesn't sell it, just go to Ebay or Amazon.com There are plenty of copies there. So, tell me about your Noel "experience". How did you manage to purchase it? Which are your favorite songs? My Target store only had two copies left on "opening day" and because of that I got panicky. So when my "provider" showed up in the afternoon I tried my darndest to get her to run me but she couldn't. She had to pick up her daughter who was waiting for her but she suggested that I try calling to see if they would hold a copy. Some stores won't do it but I tried anyway and succeeded! Long story short (Too late!) I did pick it up and started to "tear up" as I was leaving the store. I was So glad to have gotten it! But then I almost "lost it" on the way home and that would have been embarrassing. Okay, so I'm a big baby so what... Now as for my favorite, even though Josh's voice is "heavenly" on all the songs, I DID "bawl" on I'll Be Home For Christmas. That one Really moved me... And what about Thankful? Wasn't that fabulous? Till next time, Cupid

The Part of a Lifetime...

on September 2, 2007 - 7:22pm

So, here's a question for everyone: What part does Josh play in your life? As it's come to pass, Josh is an enormous part of my life. He first came into my life with his debut album and has always been there. However, he REALLY came into my life after my friends moved away. Being a single 43-year old guy who's not in a relationship, who's parents and best friend live three hours away, and the only person he sees (or speaks) to everyday is his "provider" (or "attendant") you can only imagine why Josh means the world to me and why I feel so close to him. Knowing this, is it any wonder why I feel like Josh is a Gift from God to my life? So anyway, what does he mean to your life? Please feel free to reply to my blog or e-mail me with your reply if you feel like it.

Just Wondering...

on August 30, 2007 - 2:43am

Here's a question for all of you...I just watched a re-run of The Ellen Degeneres Show where Josh performed "February Song". So, did anyone else notice that she didn't mention his name at the beginning of the show or thank him at the end? In fact, if it hadn't been mentioned on this website I would never have known he was on there. Now, maybe I missed something somewhere but I did watch the show all the way through. BTW, for those that don't remember it was the episode where Patrick Dempsey was promoting his movie "Freedom Writers". In other words, did it actually happen or is it just my imagination?

I'm Back!

on July 29, 2007 - 10:45am

Pardon me for being a little sluggish but I finally made it back! First, I have to say Thanks to all those reading and responding to my blog. It is after all, why I started it. Well, you will be happy to hear that my trip was successful. While I still don't feel "fabulous" I do feel better. And because of that I owe you guys an explanation. You see, it's like this: Every time I get excited or look forward to something it threatens to get ruined. I had to go out in a flash flood to see The Backstreet Boys in concert. It's by a sheer Miracle that I even got there. Then I waited for THREE YEARS for Dreamgirls to come to the theater. When it did, I caught the flu and missed it. Then I missed Josh's concert in San Antonio. That, I'm afraid "broke" my spirit. Now the good news: All got revealed to me on my trip and as it turned out, Life is what actually happened. In other words, I couldn't have seen his show even if I had tried. It just wasn't my time... Now about my trip... I did go with my best friend to eat and to the show. "Live Free or Die Hard" and "The Transformers" had terrific special effects and "Hairspray" was Fabulous! Seeing John Travolta in drag was a hoot! Well, those are the highlights... Talk to you soon and Thanks Again!
