Hidden Away… masterfully created!

on June 16, 2010 - 6:15pm

Oh Josh, what a song! There is the feel of sorrow; a love lingering in the depths of your heart, lost but not forgotten. Beautiful song… beautiful melody… so full of feeling!

My heart also goes out to the Mandela family

on June 12, 2010 - 12:34pm

Like Josh, my heart also goes out to the Mandela family for their tragic loss and I leave all who have endured a heart shattering loss with this poem from my heart:

Surrounded by my thoughts of you

Surrounded by my thoughts of you
I cannot stop adoring you
But now I’m left here on my own
To drown within the tears
That fall inside

So I can only wonder why
Until I’ve come to realize
I’m here to hold your heart
Within my hands

While I wander in the dark
I feel the love inside my heart
All I have I gave to you
With that my soul will hold onto

Among the flowers

on May 31, 2010 - 8:04pm

The days are longer now as the season has changed. Some days are bright among the flowers, full of light hearted joy as daffodils dancing with a gentle spring breeze; until an unforeseen day of autumn covers them with fallen leaves.

Piercing thorns of sorrow has struck the heart of a loved one. And as I do all I can to ease the pain; I too feel helpless while looking for a ray of sunshine to renew the soul. Then, it comes in the form of an invitation and an unexpected trip. A time of happiness shared with a friend of my daughter. They have known one another since grade-school and both graduated from California Polytechnic University, with degrees in Animal Science. Her friend was fortunate to attend Western University of Health Science; College of Veterinary Medicine and is graduating with her DVM. The ceremonies are held at The Auditorium of the City of Pasadena; we will be among the flowers here with three days of celebrations.

After the weekend of festivities, we return to my daughter’s home and with a shadow of sorrow still lingering as rain showers weighing down the poppies on a hillside; with mixed feelings I leave to continue on to my next destination.

Mother's Day means sharing …

on May 1, 2010 - 11:16pm

For my girls,

From the first moment that I knew I would have the privilege to become a mom with you; I strived to enrich you as the seeds of my heart, encouraging you to excel, thrive while keeping unconscionable influences at bay as you triumphed with success to become caring and responsible adults.

To have my soul’s desire fulfilled with your success, and become best friends with you for all time… that is what being a mom means to me.

Although we are just a phone call away; Mother’s Day means sharing the celebration with both of you, my precious daughters who gave me the true meaning to this honored day. I love you with all my heart; you will always be…
my girls … my joy … my pride.

And now; a note to a special mother…

Dear Mrs. Groban,

Congratulations on the success of your sons. The latest photo posted of Josh and Chris together on their birthdays shows the closeness between them. While Josh displays his humorous side; Chris has a proud and content expression; it’s very sweet.

From one mom to another; here’s to you sharing your Mother’s Day with both of your wonderful sons!

Most sincerely,
Jan Russell
