on October 2, 2011 - 9:45pm

Starting to feel like I'm in a freeze frame here, watching the new videos of each concert come through.

The "owling" photo

on September 12, 2011 - 8:58pm

I'm becoming obsessed with this photo that Josh tweeted.

There's something about it that just won't let me go.

The composition is like a Vermeer painting: the window, the light, the curtains.

Josh himself is so quintessentially Josh: the impish, child-man playing at an impression; the tousled hair; the heavily framed glasses that he wears as a nerd mask pretending to himself that he couldn't possibly have been People magazine's sexiest man alive in 2009 and must still be the awkward kid his classmates derided when he was in school.

The PJs are delightfully tight, hinting at the shape of the body, accentuating the sensual nature of a man confined to his bedroom. The flexed limbs increase the tightness.

olsontb is back

on September 10, 2011 - 7:48pm

Someone on this website turned me on to a brilliant, young YouTube singer, olsontb, who has done quite few Josh covers. Then I was frustrated that he did not post any videos for a long time. He's suddenly gotten active again and he's done a great new Josh cover

Poking out nose from rain

on September 8, 2011 - 7:29pm

It's been raining almost continuously since the weekend. White Plains, NY, only 5 mi from me, was recorded with almost 7 inches of rain. This is from Lee. It's in addition to what we had from Irene, plus the 12 inches we had during the month of August, when we normally have more like 4 inches.

The sun peeked out a bit this afternoon. Seemed like an unfamiliar visitor.

Fortunately, my personal home is not flooded.

Josh in Europe

on September 7, 2011 - 9:14pm

I know it's silly, but I feel slightly abandoned. Of course, he's just as present, given twitter, as ever; and Grobanites will post videos of his performances on YouTube, from other countries, I presume, but there's still this sense of absence for me -- that he's not here.

Yet, I do still hope he makes it to Brazil and Mexico. He's said several times that he wants to go to those countries, but I've seen no evidence that Warner or Sony music intends to send him -- Alas.
