Josh in another movie

on January 12, 2012 - 3:51pm

I just read a blurb that mentioned Josh was going to be in a film called Coffee Town: "Groban has signed on for the playful role of a barista who wants to be a singer though he does not have the talent for it." Oh, this should be choice! I'll bet Josh will have to hire a vocal coach to teach him how NOT to sing on key! LOL!

Edgewise

on January 8, 2012 - 9:28am

Doesn't it irriate you when people talk so much that nobody else can get a word in edgewise? I have a friend who does this, and it's really hard for that particular trait not to color your friendship...or any other relationship. Just sayin........

Holiday Musings

on December 24, 2011 - 11:57am

For those of us who are single and have no family living closeby, the holiday season can be really depressing. Friends are occupied with their own busy activities and often this makes one's solitude more pronounced. Even though for Christians, such as myself, it really isn't about the shopping and the socializing and the partying, but rather is about a birthday - THE birthday, to be precise - nevertheless this time of year is wrapped up in all sorts of other things. More mundane, yes, but still a part of the fabric of our lives.

The Glory of Christmas

on December 18, 2011 - 12:14am

One of the things I love most about the Christmas season is the glorious songs that I can, for a while, listen to again, until another year passes. I gotta admit, I like my Christmas songs traditional; no modernized rhythms, no rocking out interpretations, no contemporary vocal embellishments. I'm completely old-fashioned in this way. Of course there are some new songs that have been written that I have found extraordinarily beautiful and touching, such as Mercy Me's "Joseph's Lullaby" and a song written by Burt Alfred called "Some Children See Him" which I heard for the first time when Jesse Colin Young performed it at a local Borders to promote his Christmas CD.

Josh in the kitchen?

on December 13, 2011 - 7:24am

Okay, I gotta say, Josh, you can sing for me anytime. But I think you should leave the cooking to the professionals! Seriously....never trust a smiling man holding a large knife!
