A Bright Future

Dear Josh,

I remember when I first saw you sing. I could see the beautiful strength, love, and a bit of timidity in your performance. It was a tough time in the world. It was also an incredibly difficult time to break into the music industry. The world desperately needed you. In a world full of, pardon my honesty, severly shallow, self-centered pop stars, out comes Josh Groban; a truly talented, multi-fasceted, adorable, young man full of love. You haven't changed much except that I would upgrade adorable to handsome and your timidity in definately gone.

I also want to say that I think in a certain way the last 10 years have been a sort of warm up for the rest of your life and career. The world is just now beginning to wake up to the realization that the things they thought were important maybe aren't so important. The most important thing we can do is to strive to be our best self. Life isn't about being perfect, looking perfect, or appearing perfect to everyone around you. Life is about real love, love that urges people to be their best, compassion instead of selfishness, purity instead of filth, honesty in place of deception, and personal responsibility instead of excuses.

In other words Josh, I think the world is more ready for you. What you have to offer is real, not deception. This is why I think that in a way your achievements have barely even begun. You have so much more to give, and I am really looking forward to seeing that and to following you on that journey.

Love,
Erika
