Help Save The Arts!
As you all know, I love the arts. I love music. I love to sing. I love to write. I love that I get to share these passions with you every day of my life. While I was fortunate enough to grow up in a very artistic household and receive a solid education in the arts, too many in this country do not have these opportunities. But it’s institutions like the National Endowment for the Arts that provide the necessary funds to make the arts accessible to all. So as you can imagine, I was very saddened to hear that the House of Representatives passed an amendment that cut an additional $20 million from the NEA’s budget. As it now stands, funding for the NEA has been reduced from $167.5 million to $124.5 million–the deepest cut to the NEA in 16 years. But there’s still hope! On February 28th, the Senate will begin working on its own version of the budget, which will include funding for the NEA. Until then, they will be on leave back in their home states. In the meantime, Americans for the Arts, the leading nonprofit in advancing the arts, is working hard on this issue. I’m a proud member of their Artists Committee and am committed to bringing these important issues to the attention of all of you. Here’s what you can do to help. Tell your local media about the devastating impact that the House appropriations bill could have on the arts where you live. This customizable Media Alert provided by Americans for the Arts makes it easy. It will automatically send letters on your behalf to your local newspapers, radio and TV stations. All you have to do is choose a few talking points and hit send. And since they’ll be home, the chances that your Senator hears, reads and sees these messages will be extremely high. I turn 30 the day before the vote. It would be an incredible birthday present to me for you guys to help me out on this! Thank you in advance for being wonderful arts advocates with me. Lotsa love Josh
For the Love of God...Our Lord and Savior...I pray for the expansion of Find Your Light!
Please to be part of a great art production and enrichment of children's lives.
Love,

Hi Josh and hi everyone who reads this :). I think I'm quite odd in this matter, 'cause I heard Josh voice somewhere, some months ago and I am not ably to listen to any other music than his his and his voice. Josh - your voice is a part of you that I just can't "live without" (I know - it sounds crazy and weird but it is the truth) and I'm am listening every evening and every morning and the text, your voice and the music makes me feel very happy and comfortably, so why change. I'm old enought to have listened to Sinatra and the RatPack and of course I love to listen to Ray Charles aso - but for the moment it's your voice I need to hear so I happy for every song of yours (except the French one on "Closer" ;)). I am very greatful and happy that have finally found you and will enjoy and I am very rich to be born in the 50:s 'cause I got to hear and enjoy SO many of the great ones and now it's you I'm listening to.
I say like "ABBA": "Thank you for the music" and hope that you will read my words to you. I wish you all the best and a joyful Christmastime.

I´ve seen the Artand it daoesn´t say anywhere that this individual is affiliated with Find Your Light Foundation. In the Items descriptions says very clear that the sales will benefit the Foundation and nothing more. I know we must be cautious about this kind of thing but how about contacting the person who´s helding the auction and gathering info about how she plans to donate the proceeds from the items before making a notice?
This notice may keep fans away from bidding on the items now and i know for a fact that GFC won´t accept any items for the auctions from this person.
Is not an official Find Your Light Foundation or GFC auction but this person is trying to help, so please grobies and fans: be very cautious but keep in mind is it for a good cause. Thanks you for amazing work, Josh´s team!
This is what I have been searching in many websites and I finally found it here. Amazing article. I am so impressed. Could never think of such a thing is possible with it...I think you have a great knowledge especially while dealings with such subjects.USB Keylogger

Salvador Dali?
Professor STool from the Hare' I Potter!
Smurfect?
Principal Shawn C. Bastiani?
You take a pick and you'll be surprise Warner Brothers and Colombia picture might just make you an Icon! But of course you are already.
I really think Picasso and Salvador Dali makes a great unifier of all.
Perhaps Chris Groban can capture Picasso = Phi Cash O! Not that one has to be a communist but Picasso art is over the top captivating! Intense like his eyes and carries a weight. He lived a very very long life.
And surprisingly even Frida Kahlo were all together some of the best Spanish / Hispanic Artist. Selma Hayek play Kahlo once...Mesmerizing. I once dressed up as Kahlo for Halloween. It was not much of a costume - Except the mole I looked real authentic along with back pain.
The communists (Picasso and Kahlo) and liberator Salvador is by far my favorite. Those upturned mustashe speaks volumes much like a shin Sign for El Shaddai. Quite fascinatingly Salvador Dali never needed drugs...He became the drug... A deeply multifaceted narcistic man who was transformed by faith and love. There's even exorcism. Political upheaval. He was a diplomat and sported sophistication. I loved how he enunciates every word. Beauty never left him. A man of archaic accomplishment.
Salvador turned death into life... Like the Boom ti Yada song!
The kind of audience this will bring will be exponential...It would be worst than Evita. The accents and lines alone would make it an international best seller... pandemic.
A very good and informative article indeed . It helps me a lot to enhance my knowledge, I really like the way the writer presented his views.

A childlike expectation always helps. I will ask for more to give. We will raise the children with love, harmony and glorious lyrics. My spirit does not rest till I hear them play.
Thanks for what you do and for just being YOU!!!! Love you!!! You are amazing :)
Hi Josh!
Its sad to here that the same things that happens here in Sweden at the moment even happens in the State and now in Boston. Its a bit late for me to try to send something to your senators. What i cant understand is that they dont understand the impact this have on society. Our minister of education just toke away the possability to get grades in estetic subjects such as theater, music, art and lot more. I really hope that you succed in getting your senate to understand the importance of art.

Josh theres a tragedy up north in Grand Traverse Co. "Forrest Area Schools" in Fife Lake that "ALL" their music has been cancel'd. Choral program a few years ago then Band this year. These kids have gotten lost in the grown-ups politics!! these 4 "small" schools are the only in Grand Trav. Co.this has happen'd to. I know that you attend'd Interlochen up here & read your Bio w/your statements that not all kids have the upbringing u were bless'd with ,nor the support u had of the arts. Music has been part of the "public schools" sence the 1920's. They have a angel that is offering a "after school" band program BUT no transpertation to "any" after school programs is a issue & also the fact that no choral-music is being offer'd. the young kids also need their music!! Plz any help u could muster for these kids would be their blessing!! lyrics u have post'd of your song "Hidden Away" Sing it out so i can breath...Reaching out for somone i believe in..All i really need today...what a concept of what the kids of Forest Area Schools can relate to...i hope u keep flying amongst the angels Josh!! Thank You for all you are!! Teresa...

Josh you are so wonderful as the rainbow of San Francisco over the bridge. I am so thrilled to have you as my muse every step of the way as my little book develops into a wonderful blossoming garden of Eve.
If I have not done much to praise your work it is simply that I am busy tending to the garden pulling out many weeds and cleaning the turnips for a great salad. The flower beds are looking marvelous and the grapes are flourishing here in Napa Valley.
While I'm here in the groves doing some dirty work and pruning. You my darling...the voice of love accompanies me.
Other than a few dirty nails I'm quite satisfied with the results as the garden continues to flourish with less tares and weeds...
Many more Joyful joys to come upon you and your family! The Grobanites

I totally agree. We should save our arts. Especially for the future generations.
Just received 04/12/11 - This morning, the House Appropriations Committee publicly released the final budget agreement for FY 2011 negotiated by President Obama with House and Senate leaders, which includes $155 million in funding for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). This represents a cut of $12.5 million from the FY 2010 enacted level of $167.5 million, which is significantly better than the previous House-approved level of $124.4 million. Also included in this bill is $25.5 million in funding for the Arts in Education programs at the U.S. Department of Education, which had been zeroed-out in a previous continuing resolution. This compromise legislation is set to go to the House floor later this week before moving on to the Senate for final approval.
Josh - your music is wonderful and has moved so many people in so many ways. Two of my friends were married last year with your music playing in the background. I have a request: if you will sing "When You Say You Love Me" at your May 24 concert in Omaha, could you dedicate it to Sandi and Bruce Allred? They will be in the audience and would be thrilled with the dedication. Thanks so much. Continue with your inspiring work.
No prob Big Guy. Sorry it has taken this long for me to get on board here. Been trying to set up my own charity to aid in ridding this world of domestic violence. Tough work, but somebody needs to give those of abuse a voice to be reckoned with. I now add my voice to yours to assist in providing more funding for your endeavor here. I appreciate all you give me. I taught myself to waltz the other night in the moonlight on my walk with you singing "So She Dances" in my ear. Alas, my cd player broke, and it is not the same now waltzing to and fro. Keep up the great work Big Guy. Love that heart of yours you share with this great big world of ours. Thanks for all that you do.
Thank you, Josh for keeping the link to Americans for Arts, here. I've bookmarked it and will be reading the blog, to keep current of what happens next.
Lately, I've been thinking about the funding for NEA and wanted to know the outcome, now I can follow it.
I'm one of the judges, who judge our local fair's Arts, Crafts and Photography department exhibits. I meet people from our county, when they bring in their entries. They are excited and passionate, about what they have created to be entered in our department, they are smiling. I love that, the enthusiasm they have for having created something, artistically. I volunteer there and have for a few years, it's my passion.
The Arts, is America's cultural heritage. We need to save our national heritage. Once again, thank you for bringing this very important issue, to our attention.
I sent the recommended letters to the media advocating arts funding and my local newspaper just published my letter in the paper. Yay!!
I so agree. Now if I could just afford to even see you once live in concert. Maybe your support of the arts is why tickets for those of us on limited incomes are so high? We do what we can to support them locally and especially through our local schools. I gave my Beloved violin to a local student last year because the instrument room at his school had a fire and his was destroyed. The joy on his face and to hear him play it made it all worth while.
I want to thank you for speaking out on this very important issue. Arts education improves student math and reasoning skills, and saves students from dropping out. I myself would have dropped out of high school, but drama classes saved me. Now I hold a doctorate degree. If it hadn't have been for arts education, I don't know where I'd be today.
I've been teaching for 20 years, and every year I see more and more get cut. Our local district has had no art or music at any level for the last 5 years. We are losing kids because of it, and it has to stop. Thank you for motivating the fans. Together we can make a difference!
Music is an important part of Hurffville Elementary School. Our 4th and 5th grade Chorus entered the Philadelphia B101 radio contest by singing Josh's song "Believe". The students won $5000 for the school's music program! They would like Josh to have a copy of the CD and a picture of them with the radio station personality. Is there any way that I could send this to him and make sure that he gets it? It would mean so much to these kids! Thank you!
Every little bit of support helps! Thanks, Josh!
Music teachers all over the country (including Texas where I am from) are currently sitting on the edges of our seats waiting to find out if we will have jobs next year. We go to school and specialize to teach what we are passionate about. We pour our hearts and souls into inspiring the musician spirit in our students. What will our students be like without this creative outlet? Almost every country ahead of us academically not only has music in their schools, but they have it MORE often...why doesn't anybody get it?
We have a joke here that Walmart and McDonald's are about to have the most educated, talented staff they've ever seen. Let's hope we can continue to do what we love!
P.S.--Josh's latest album is by far the best. Keep writing, Josh!
I appreciate that you made it easy for us to make our voices heard. Together we can make a difference. The Arts are so important to our schools and community. I have sent my e-mails!
I also hope that you and Sweeny enjoyed your birthday! All the very best to you and your family!
Happy birthday Josh, you are special people and a great artist. You are a gift's God to us.
Dear Josh,
Happy birthday on your day,
I wish you the best, without any delay.
Hope you enjoy it, from beginning till end,
Here's a hug and kiss, I'm ready to send.
Hope you are able to celebrate your birthday to the fullest.
Happy Birthday to you and Chris too!
I am proud to be an advocate along with you for the arts.
I sent messages to The Ballard News Tribune, Everett Herald,Mercer Island Reporter, Seattle-Post Intellengencer and lastly the Seattle Times. This arts are a vital part of everyones lives whether they realize it or not. The Senate needs to open their eyes and do the right thing.
Shirley N.
A very happy birthday to you! I sent off a letter to the NY Times, as I have a daughter Sarah who is a music major at the Crane School of Music in NYS. The arts have always been a huge part of our lives, and will continue to be so in hers. Simply put, what would life be without the arts?
We are so looking forward to the tour coming to NY - hopefully before the end of the summer?!
P.S. Is there going to be an Illuminations music book published soon?
Hello, I'm joshsh. I'm Japanese fan.
I've been Josh's concert in Japan. it was my first time to visit Tokyo alone. It was my adventure. It was my happiest memory in my life. Josh write me autograph. Thank you Josh.
Happy Birth Day, Josh.
Love, Joshsh.
Sorry Josh, in my earlier "speech" I forgot to mention one very important thing....Have a VERY happy 30th birthday and be sure to celebrate all 3 decades worth! Thank you for sharing your talent, your love for the arts, and your heart! You are a true blessing!
Josh, It's a horrible mistake to cut funding for the Arts. I will do all I can to help see that doesn't happen. Thanks for all your support for this cause!
Lotsa love back at you!
Sue (Lily2000)(CrabBalls)
Thanks Josh for all that you do for the arts. My letter was printed in the Norwich Bulletin (Norwich,Connecticut) on the Letters to the Editor page this Saturday!
Voted! And pleaded!
All done! Thank you for all that you are, all that you do and all you inspire me to be. Feliz Cumpleaños! :D
Josh, I was very happy to honor your request for your birthday and make my voice heard on a very important issue. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to try to make a difference for the arts.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt plea for action. Speaks well of you.
I went to your link and sent letters to selected media. Had to work only a little harder to send (edited) letters to the President, Senators, and my Representative.
Hope you get that birthday present. And happy 30th and 26th birthdays Sunday to you and Chris. The decade of the 30s was one of my best; hope I can pass on the blessing.

I want to thank you for bring this issue to the attention of grobanites everywhere around the world. Although I don't live in America, I was lucky to be able to attend music and art programs during my school years growing up in Western Australia.
I feel that it so important for all children everywhere around the world, to be able to have access music and arts programs as the benefits of these progams far out way the costs and it makes me sad to hear that the NEA is losing $20 million from it's budget.
I hope everyone in US supports you in your efforts to raise awareness of the importance of funding Art programs in school to US Senate, as you Josh are wonderful example of what these art programs can achieve.
Your music is loved and appreciated by people through out the world.
I would like to wish you and brother Chris a very Happy Birthday for Sunday.
Take care and lot's of love from Sherrie
Done Josh. Have a great birthday!
Hi Josh.
(Writer alert: Long Birthday message... Sorry in advance. :)
I am so happy that you would put something that you actually want for your Birthday on your page.
I would have immediately responded to this (and it may have been better for time intensive purposes) but for me the topic at hand was such a personal issue that I literally had to let it digest for a while. Finding the words to put on a page about this was really hard for me and I also knew I would have to be more open about myself. Whether it ended up perfect or not is besides the point.
It send my mind seriously spinning and racing. I had no idea that something like the NEA even existed.
I took this very personally, because really, this is about me and my story in so many ways! It was sort of a no brainer to decide to do this and without sounding too dramatic, if felt like more of a present for myself than you.
I need you to know, everything put aside, that this very reason is why I follow you.
I mean you have an amazing voice (connectively are my favorite), and are an incredibly gifted artist, but I follow you because from the first day I have related to your story as an extremely artistically inclined person in school.
Really I had a horrible school experience. There was no organization like the NEA or an art school for me. I do not regret my lifle, because I have faith in believing that all things work for the best, and it has helped shape who I am. But I am still making up for the damage done by these very kinds of educational cuts. And this is my life, so I believe I am speaking for others' lives too.
Your works and your team have helped me get through a lot.
That being said, all the more I wish to help people in need of these types of organizations, institutions and funds because I all too well, very personally, understand the need for them. By my own tears!
Thank you so much for wishing for something so cool, and thank you for helping me to know that this existed.
I will perhaps post my letter for you on my webpage! Perhaps not?
I also wanted to say, whether this is right or not, a person can just refresh the page and send them to all of them instead of just five. (I may be being a bad example, is that against the rules?) And hell, I'm from two states, so I got creative.
Thank you so much for putting up with all of my horrible jokes at times, some funny and some not.
I wish you the very best on your 30th Birthday, I think very highly of you, and God Bless you.
Have an amazing day, blow out all of your candles, and for the Love of God, I hope your Mr. Magoo walk isn't too terribly long.
A lot of people are willing to follow you if you walk away! :)

Dear Josh
What a great and generous idea of yours to celebrate your Birthday in this way.

As usual you are right on Target as to what is needed. I realize what dire straights our country is in financially, but this can not be ignored! Thank you for caring about our (and some day your) young peoples education. What a nice Birthday present YOU are giving them on your birthday. I hope you and Chris have a very nice one also. I also went to the website and added my two-cents worth. :0)
Sincerely, Barbara
Josh - Your request for the National Endowment of the Arts is as good as done! Happy Birthday Josh! I am glad that I could give you a birthday gift that is truly meaningful to you.
Just sent in my e-mail to the local media in my town yesterday...Let's just hope and pray for good results. I'm a big supporter of the Arts, especially Performing Arts...I've had solid exposure from it as well since I was child. In college, I majored in it, as you can see the arts has been a part of me and will continually be a part of me for the rest of my life. Hopefully, in the future when my children express their interest in it to explore their creativity, this kind of resources will be available for them.
