One More for the Free Press

The President of the United States visited Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan on Thursday, 2/10/2011. When I saw the article on the front page of the Detroit Free Press this afternoon I knew I had to buy it.

First, I must explain to those who are not familiar with Michigan, is that it is divided in two. There is the Lower Peninsula and Upper Peninsula. Some of the people who have never crossed the Mackinac Bridge to go over to the other side believe that the Upper Peninsula has few cars, no indoor plumbing or running water and we have wild animals crawling all over.

If you have seen Kid Rock's newest music video Born to be Free, he tape that at Pictured Rocks which is in Upper Michigan. It is so beautiful there and on Lake Superior. I thought once people saw the video they may be tempted to cross the bridge and come over to the other side. After the article in the Free Press, I don't think we will have to worry about it.

One of the first sentences indicated that the people went into town on their snowmobiles and wore puffy jackets. Trust me. We do not just drive snowmobiles to get around in the winter. We have snowshoes.

Time for bed.
