Well as I sit here with my much loved laptop in my kitchen on a very warm Tuesday morning (currently 24c at 7.00 am) I contemplate life and the effect JG's music has on me. I can't help but wonder if he really has any idea how much his voice can ease sorrow, calm nerves, take away the stress of the day or drown out bad thoughts. How can one person's music have such an influence on so many people?

I first saw Josh on Ally McBeal. Didn't think much about it at the time, just thought he was an actor. A few years later, I was walking with a friend down a beachside shopping street and we stopped at a record store and saw his first CD. We both commented that he was the guy from Ally McBeal, so I bought it. I got home and listened to it and played it a few times but like many CD's, it eventually got put aside when a new CD came along.

Fast forward to 2007 and a girl who was temping at my work asked me if I had heard of Josh Groban. Di asked me if I wanted to go with her to his concert; I didn't even know he was touring Australia - but that is another subject for another day! So on a Friday night in October, two women went to a concert and were mesmorised. Until then I didn't realise how young he was, didn't know much about him at all other than his gorgeous voice. What a showman he was!

Was I addicted after the concert? well no. I loved the show, I loved his singing, his stories, his sense of humour, but I wasn't Grobanised YET.

I was a bit slow with the electonic age..... the only computer I used was at work, didn't have a flat screen TV or the latest and greatest mobile phone, but I did purchase myself an Ipod for my birthday in 2008. One of the first CD's I put on it was Josh Groban. For the first 2 weeks of owning the Ipod the only thing I listened to was Josh Groban. I was hooked! On the bus to work in the morning he was there to help me face the day. On the way home from work, he was there to take away the stess of the day.

I purchased Closer,Awake and Noel all at the same time - I couldn't get enough of the boy.

We will never know the "real" Josh, but he does seem a genuine good guy and the world is a better place because of him and what he has given so many people.

The past year in particular has been a difficult one and Josh you have been my saviour so many times and on so many levels. Thank you.
