Well, my FOJG friends, things are finally getting back on track for me after going to my Dad's memorial service in Maine (I live in TX) the weekend after Thanksgiving.

At the memorial on Sat. I saw relatives and friends I hadn't seen in 20-30 years. My brothers arranged for a small military service (taps, flag folding) but forgot to tell me I would be the one accepting the flag until the last minute (my Dad served in the US Marines at the end of WWII). On Sun my brothers and I scattered his ashes. My son and I visited with my brothers and other relatives as it will probably be some time before we go to Maine again..probably only when another niece or nephew marries.

My sister-in-law was here for Thanksgiving and well..drove me crazy. I am still finding things "out of place" and putting them back. Thanks goodness she won't be here for Xmas.

I have mailed 2xlg and 1 lg flat rate box to Iraq for US Marines already and today I mailed 2 lg flate rate boxes to Afghanistan for US Marines. I have 2 more lg and 1 med flat rate boxes left to go.

Have my holiday shopping for family in Maine done. Now I just need to pack and mail.

My son and I applied for our passports before Thanksgiving at the post office for our cruise in the Caribbean in March. Hopefully they will be here by the end of the year or early in the new year.

We will begin our home remodeling after the first of the year. I have quite a few things in mind and it will all probably take 18months to complete as I usually will do one project every 3 months or so. Our home is 10 yrs old and ready for the update. I think my husband is finally getting "on board" with the whole thing..I hope so because it is going to happen.
Wood flooring on the first floor formal living room, dining room and master bedroom are first (kitchen, entry, powder room and laundry are already tiled with ceramic tile). Master bath will be done with probably travertine at a later time.

Well, that's about it from here for now. 2 Xmas trees u and decorated..however 1 tree is waiting for husband to replace the plug as the little dog thought it looked like a good chew toy (thanks goodness it was not plugged in at the time).I am just hopeing he gets it done BEFORE Christmas but I am not holding my breath.

TTYL,

Ruth
