Josh's Hot Streak Continues in Las Vegas....

Las Vegas in August is always hot...the pools are packed, the streets are sweltering, and everywhere you look people are looking for a way to cool off...the Josh Groban show on August 20th was NOT an option, because the show was SIZZLING HOT! Grobanites near and far always look forward to the Las Vegas show, maybe it’s because there is a lucky feeling in the air that just maybe you might be able to catch a glimpse of Josh walking the casino floor, maybe it’s because of the ability for everyone to get together in a great central location, or maybe it’s because the city has such an awesome energy that it electrifies the crowd and Josh himself, making the show a highlight of the tour. I think it is all of the above!

It is no surprise that Josh can sing...we have all known this for how many years now? But the “Straight to You” tour, and the Vegas show was more than just an amazing showcase of the incredible talent Josh possess, but it has also let us catch a hint of Josh himself. From telling us the stories behind the songs he writes, to what inspires him, and what moves him, we get to see a piece of the man behind the voice, and I didn’t hear anyone complaining. We also got to see the wicked sense of humor in person that we only catch glimmers of on Josh’s Vlog. The Q&A portion of the show had the audience laughing, so if Josh ever wants to take on a second career, might I suggest comedy? His quick responses to the audience questions like, “On the last day of the world, where will you be?” (Vegas) and “If you were on a deserted island and could only have one collection of any artist, who would it be?” (Bob Marley, is it an island after all) had the audience rolling in the aisles.

The “Straight to You” tour also gave a few lucky fans a chance to really get up close and personal. First, with the final Q&A question being “Can I sing with you?” posed by an adoring fan, Josh gladly fulfilled what was surely a life-long dream. Later in the show, Josh collected several audience members, a couple who had been married 16 years, a young boy who said Josh was his favorite concert he had been to, and one breathless single gal who looked as though she had just hit the jackpot. Josh set up a cozy little sitting area for these fans and proceeded to serenade them with lovely songs about broken hearts.

Josh Groban has had an amazing journey as a performer, and with shows like “Straight to You”, that journey is obviously no where near its end.
