Ok, 24h to 48h to write a report, as I'm out of sleep, with sparkles in my eyes, and so sad after leaving my friends and just going back in normal life after an enchanted break... Need to focus but I'll do it ! Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...

I and Diana, a friend of mine who won the M&G contest, left Paris Show Meet Up organized by the French Grobanites before the show to reach the Grand Rex and meet Josh. Just a couple of the contest's winners were there, and we were told that we were late. It was 17h50, we couldn't imagine we were late but anyway, we were finally there, waiting for the other winners to arrive. A guest was late and when we called her, she was still in the subway rushing to get Grand Rex. After a while “the subway girl” (nickname given by Darren and she will recognize herself), we were all ready.

Then Darren gave us all the instructions about what we can and can't do with Josh: No kiss or hug because it's flu season (a bit awkward for French women to just shake his hand, we're so used to kiss on the cheek but that's no big deal), an autograph, a picture and off we go ! I felt a bit like army troops taking the salute, standing in line in a corridor, but time was running out so we needed to hurry up. I was a bit shaky when my turn came but I took a deep breath, made a step forward, shook his hand and managed to say a few words, hoping they'll all come in the right way and not in French ! Just thanked him for the great people (yeah, you the grobanites ;-) ) I had the chance to meet, thanks to him and his music, for connecting people who would have never met another way. I feel grateful and blessed that I was able to tell him that.

Then we left the Grand Rex, and I had the chance to see Andre Manga who was just coming in the way. We talked a bit, took a picture and he promised to come back after the show.
Once the audience was seated, the show began with 4 songs from Deep Forest by the great Eric Mouquet. A perfect opening act as he collaborated with Josh before on a few songs and share his musical world.

After a little break, the light dimmed down and the band appeared on the stage, with the « Straight to you » instrumental introduction. Then Josh popped up on the stage, under the audience's applauses. It's difficult for me to give you the playlist but these were the songs he sang : Higher window, Hidden away, The wandering kind, Galileo, Bells of NYC, Au jardin des sans pourquoi, Voce, You are loved, You raise me up, Per te, Mi Mancherai (with the great Christian Hebel), Alla luce, Changing colors, Machine (featuring Eric Mouquet),Weeping, Smile and Awake.

Voce was a real great moment because the venue was illuminated by glowsticks distributed by French fan base at the entrance and people just lifted up their glowsticks and danced along with Josh singing on the stage.

What I remember most is the interaction between the stage and the audience. Josh was really at ease, he spoke a bit in French, made jokes, talked about his TV appearances in France and his participation to the Miss France 2007 pageant, where a contestant winked at him... and actually won! He told us he hoped we won't find him weird but we didn’t: he was just himself, natural and funny.

The band was AMAZING, hands up in the air waving, dancing with the audience and it was obvious they were having fun. I loved Tariqh's performance, as usual he was great, and what a cute dork he even lost his glasses on stage while dancing with his guitar! Christian Hebel was a total discovery and I enjoyed his performance on Mi mancherai. A great violonist.

Josh, as usual on the tour, answered a few questions. The first one, asked by Yves-Marie, was about his desire or not to act in other movies. Josh talked about the jerk he played in “Crazy stupid love” and that he'd love to do more comedies, as his music is a bit serious. Then a polish girl Paulina asked him what kind of super powers he'd like to have. Josh answered:
− To be invisible so that he can attend his music label's meetings and hear what they really think of him
    − To fly really fast
− To shoot candies out of his mouth
Last but not least question asked by Lina: Would you like to take ballet dancing lessons?
Josh said that went to a school for the arts, where he did have ballet dancing lessons but was so bad that the teacher told him to just sit and stretch! Hilarious!

Josh picked up a charming couple and a single lady to come on the stage with him. The girl is named Roxanne so he sang a bit of the Police song. And the couple was so cute, they're getting married on Saturday (congratulations Severine and Manu !!!!). As they are friends of mine, I can tell you they confessed that drinking wine on a stage in front of 2500 people while Josh is singing 2 meters from you is an experience they'll never forget!

The show unfortunately ended (I'm sure you understand it always ends too quick) and a few lucky got a chance to see Josh after the show. The band was really nice, took pictures with the fans and chatted a bit with them (I saw Andre again, Mark, Eric Mouquet and Christian). They are all kind; it was a pleasure to be able to meet them.

As the tour buses left the boulevard, from across the street a bunch of fearless French Grobanites waved goodbye to Josh and the Groband with a huge banner saying “French grobanites will always follow you”. Well, French or not, I'm pretty sure anybody who attended the show that night would have said the same: if Josh walks away, we'll follow him.
