Hello all!! I've been a Josh Groban fan for a very long time. Needless to say, when I received the email saying I had been chosen as a road reporter and would have a meet & greet with Josh, my heart started racing.   I had trouble attempting to contain myself and calm down enough to form the words to share my exciting news.  I was able to experience the same reaction from my mom when I told her we where going to meet Josh!!!!

On the day of the concert, we arrived extra early to pick up the passes.  Once I had the passes in my hand it really hit me; "I'm going to meet Josh!!!"  We then went to security to have my camera bag checked and then headed over to the meet and greet location.   My mom and I then waited with other Grobanites who where in a similar state of excitement and nervousness.  Next we were ushered backstage and were given the rules on meeting Josh.   Darren, Josh’s head of security, informed us we where not allowed to kiss or hug Josh and all of us Grobanites collectively sighed a disappointed “awwww!”  Then the time to meet Josh came.  My mom and I were further back in line and were able watch others meet him.  It was so cool to experience the joy on their faces after they had met Josh.  It truly was an unforgettable experience. When it was our turn, I had Josh autograph my “Illuminations” CD.  I told him his face swap picture that he tweeted amused me. I was so nervous, I could not think of anything else to say.  My mom had Josh autograph her sneakers.  She was wearing the new rainbow colored New Balance sneakers.  Josh even commented he had not seen those yet and would have to get himself a pair.  We had our picture taken with him and our time with Josh was over. He was so nice and truly cared to ensure the very short time you had with him was as intimate as it could be.

Elew opened the concert on his piano.  His first song was from the “Killers”  and also covered songs by “Breaking Benjamin”, Katy Perry, and “Coldplay”, just to name a few.  Elew is extremely talented and unique.  The most enjoyable thing he performs is during “Sweet home Alabama.”  He plucks the chords inside the piano which I had not seen before.

Time for the main event!  Josh opened on a small stage in the middle of the arena.  He sang “Changing Colors” and two more songs before running to the main stage.  The stage was simple and perfect with nothing distracting from the magic of the music. I can't imagine how much work was put into the lighting and sound.  The talent of the light and sound crews made for a beautiful evening.

Every song Josh sang was amazing and flowed perfectly.  His orchestra has such passion and are so animated.  When it was their turn to flat out jam, they brought an extra energy to the stage.  They make the music come alive.

Josh had quite a bit of audience interaction.  There was one overly excited woman that got a little too close.  Josh bantered with her and at one point was speaking in Spanish, telling her she was "loco."  It was very funny.  He took questions from three lucky audience members that were texted prior to the show starting. One asked Josh if he would sing with her.  He invited her on stage and she chose the song “The Prayer.”  It surprised everyone when she opened her mouth and this gorgeous voice came out.  Everyone cheered for her.

After singing several songs, Josh came down from the stage and moved through the crowd.  He picked a couple that had been married 46 years.  Then he started to sing "where's my single ladies"  and picked a 23 year old and 9 year old.  The stage crew brought out inflatable sofas for them and a table.  Josh then poured wine for the couple and the young lady and milk for the little girl. He asked the older couple for their secret to being married for so long.  The wife responded; "he  was in the Navy for half of it!"  Everyone laughed!  Josh proceeded to say "I'm going to sing you a song about cheating because that's how twisted I am!”   For Josh, singing is not his only talent, he is very funny and has great comedic timing.   He truly is a complete entertainer.  Josh has an amazing ability to really make you feel the music.  It is a feeling that is difficult to describe.  It was an amazing show and I will never forget that night!!!!

Thank you Sarah and the whole Groban team for giving my mom and I this opportunity, I can now cross it off my bucket list!!
