Here is the Uniondale Official Road Reporter review from Josh's Straight To You Tour by kkissjgroban!

It feels like only yesterday when I was walking into my first Josh Groban concert at the beautiful Radio City Music Hall in NYC. It’s been several years since that night, filled with so many great memories and friendships. I’ve seen Josh several times. I stopped counting after about 20. People always ask why would you want to see him so many times?? The answer is easy, it’s not JUST about seeing Josh. Most of us became members of FOJG with the intentions of getting the latest scoop on Josh or maybe better seating at his concerts. What the general public doesn’t realize, are all the friendship that have come out of FOJG. Some of my closest friends have been made because of Josh, and that is one thing I can’t thank him enough for. Josh’s concerts and performances are a way to get together and have some fun. Grobies have a special bond, we take road trips from show to show that seem to fly by because we have so much to talk about; share hotel rooms with people that you might’ve just met and feeling like lifetime friends by the end of the stay; meet up for dinner and drinks; catch up with old friends and welcome new ones…. Then it’s time for the person who brought us all together to take center stage or in this case Stage B.

This however was the first time I was attending one of Josh’s concerts with a job… Road Reporter OOOooo the pressure; take good photos, try to capture funny video clips of his witty banter, remember the set list and oh yes meet Josh!!!!

I arrived at the venue early to make sure I could pick up my tickets and passes without any problems… mission accomplished. I attended the concert with my mom, sister and 6 yr old niece (her 1st concert) I went back stage with my sister, Darren was super nice and let my niece come with us… only if she gave Darren a high 5, which she did. Darren’s Backstage rules: No hugging or kissing. Keeps the hugs high not low, he said with a grin and wink. They were on a time crunch so group photos please. Darren asked, “everyone have their sharpies ready, good … now put them away because I’ve got THE magic sharpie.” There were so many people backstage waiting to meet Josh. The M&G was run so smoothly, guess they’ve done this a few times.

It was now our turn to meet Josh!! Mckenzie my niece was sooo excited but very nervous. Josh was so nice, he said, “Hi how are you, great to see you again.” I replied, “ Great to see you too!” As he was signing The Chess program that we brought with us, Josh asked, “ Who is this pretty little one?” I then introduced my niece Mckenzie and sister Kim to Josh. The night before Mckenzie made a crown that said I Love Josh on it. She asked him if he would sign it for her. He said,” Oh my, did you make this…. It’s beautiful, let’s find a good spot for me to sign.” By now Mckenzie wasn’t nervous anymore and she told Josh that this was her first concert (I chimed in and said this is special not everyone gets to go backstage) and she wanted to bring him in for Show N Tell… we all chuckled. I told her Josh was very busy, but how about we take a photo and she could bring that in with her signed crown. I got an excited OK!(phew) We posed with Josh and Stephanie took a great picture for us. We thanked Josh and told him to have a great show! He smiled and said thank you enjoy! Our meeting with Josh was quick, but a memory Mckenzie will remember always as will her two Aunts!!

Time for the show to start: ELEW opened up for Josh, he was very enjoyable as always and it was his manager’s brother’s birthday so he had everyone sing happy birthday. The crowd was certainly wow’d by his incredible skills.

It’s show time! Straight To You instrumental began. Josh made his entrance from the back of the house and played the first three songs from stage B – Josh opened the show with Changing Colors, followed by February Song a crowd favorite. The crowd was going crazy as he said HELLOOooo LONG ISLAND!! Thanks for coming! As he sung one of my favorite songs You Are Loved he made his way through the crowd to the front of house, stopping for brief seconds singing and shaking hands to some lucky few – Mckenzie incuded!

Josh performed a wide range of his hits including: Alejate, Oceano, Bells of New York City, Higher Window, Hidden Away, If I Walk Away – which he dedicated to the CASK Foundation the local arts organization that the Find Your Light Foundation donated to. As well as Weeping and Machine and you know what that means… the Grobies get up and dance! There were so many highlights throughout the night including a very emotion filled performance of War At Home – there were a sea of little American flags waving during the song. Josh showcased his talents further when he got behind the drums, intensely performing a drum trio as an intro to “Voce Existe Mim.”

Josh’s incorporation of the Q&A with the audience was genius! He is so funny and comes up with hysterical one liners. The best question of the night goes to Stacey… She asked, what would you rather be caught dead in; Spanx, a Superman costume, or naked except for cowboy boots! Josh chose the Superman costume. He said he wears Spanx already & that's how he hits the Hiiiigh notes! & naked is cold if you’re dead. LOL Another lucky fan got to play “Groban Idol” a young girl with a really good voice sang Happy Birthday with Josh to and audience member. Chris Groban was also in the house, he was there shooting some more footage for Josh’s video which took place while Josh was signing “If I Walk Away” Josh showcased his diversity with a performance of Neil Diamond’s hit “Play Me” I don’t think it would be a Josh Groban concert without You Raise Me Up… he said, “ I need a little help as there is no gospel choir… we blew our budget on this wall” pointing to the set behind him. Long Island didn’t disappoint and YRMU sounded perfect!
Josh came back for a short encore and performed Hidden Away and Smile. A very fitting end to the night as when the house light went on there were so many happy smiling faces.

I have to give the Groband a special shout out… They were Ahhhh-Mazing!!

I was listening to fans commenting on the show as they were leaving, everyone seemed to have had a fantastic time. I heard a lot of PHENOMENAL, AWESOME, OUTSTANDING, INCREDIBLE and WORTH The WAIT!!

Of course Josh’s Twitter feed was also filled with rave reviews including this one “@joshgroban Incredible show tonight! A class act, a terrific showman, and a true gentleman”. That tweet says it all.

It was truly a magical night and in true Josh Groban fashion he left the crowd wanting more. Thank you to Josh and his amazing team for such a fantastic opportunity.
