JG Concerts

Had the best time seeing this wonderful vocalist and had great seats to boot. (3rd row center stage!) :D

Closer Tour: Mansfield, MA

I saw Josh in concert for the first time back in '04 at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. It was an amazing concert in an outdoor venue. One thing that sticks out in my mind about the concert was that when Josh started singing "Remember When it Rained", it actually started raining. It was a great concert!

Best day of my life

I had gotten tickets to the concert at the Post Gazette Pavilion in Pittsburgh for the 2004, but I had no idea this was going to be the concert in which I was going to meet him.
My grandfather had passed away a day before my 24th birthday that year, and it was very unexpected. So, my mom kept putting in his music, saying it made her feel better, as did I.
Well, when I heard about the essay contest that FOJG was having about why you wanted to meet Josh, I was still in a somber mood while I was writing it and listening to his music had given me peace.
So, I had put my cell phone number down as a way to reach me, and that evening when Warner Brothers Records called, I was working at Barnes and Noble. I went on my break and seen I had a missed call from a number that I didn't recognize. So, I was just curious and I called it back. They said that were from the record company and asked me if I was going to the concert coming up. I said yes. And then they asked me if I wanted to meet Josh. I swear the whole store must have heard me shriek. It was one of the best days of my life. I must have floated through the store the rest of my shift.

Camden. NJ Concert

I went to see Josh on Sunday night, and at the Tweeter Center in Camden, NJ, with my lovely mom who loves him too. I'm still on cloud nine!!! I love him so much! My daughter says I am obsessed.
When he sang "You Raise Me Up", he had a choir join in. I looked at the young faces of the choral singers, and wondered if they might be of a local NJ school. Cool. Well he finally introduced them as the Upper Darby High School Choir in PA!!!! That's where I went to school, and I was in the choir!!!! I turned to my mom and said - "That could have been me up there!!!" She promptly brought me back down to earth by saying: "Of course, when you were in the choir, Josh Groban wasn't even born yet!!!!!" Thanks, Mom!!

First and only Josh Groban Concert...so far.

The first and only Josh Groban concert I have ever been to was in St. Louis, Mo. in 2004 (He hasn't been to St. Louis since....which is really sad since the Awake album was so phenomenal). I remember that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. When they started to play the opening number and Josh started to sing, I got tears in my eyes. I just could not believe I was sharing the same space as one of my favorite musical artists. We were really high up in the nosebleed section, so we could not see very well, but I remember yelling to Josh with my friends. We knew it was a long shot to yell something at him, and have him respond but we decided to give it a try.
We then yelled to him "You're yummy!!" (We had a thing in high school with saying the word yummy about everything). It's pretty embarassing that I actually said that to Josh Groban...but whatever. He actually responded, though. He said, "Thank you" in a really unsure tone...and I would have done the same if a bunch of 15 year old girls told me I was yummy.
Nonetheless I had a great time at the concert, and it is the only concert besides an Eagles concert that I have gotten teary-eyed at.

Nov 27th , South Africa - Sun City

two months before 27th Nov 2004,just happened to listen to radio that midday and had just turned off cd played and no prizes for guessing who was in it. I hear them talking that Josh is coming to town, i pick up fone and ring my mom at work to tell her the news. Following day we were at ticketing agent to get our tickets. We bought the tickets but not without a slight problem at first cause our credit card wouldnt go thru at first and that meant we coud potentially lose the best seats ever randomly chosen by this machine, but the nice lady promised to keep them for us till following day. The tickets were in row A right in centre of stage.O.m.G we were really lucky.

Fast forward to Nov 27th, all i wanted to get to venue. I was so xcited i really thought i was going to explode. We were going to drive 2hrs to venue, book hotel nearby stay ova nite and leave next day. Many may ask why we had to drive 2hrs when we could have just waited our turn in Johannesburg to see Josh. Oh no, that's not me at all, i wasn't going to do that. I needed to see Josh on first perfomance in Sun City, it just made that more magical.

Josh concerts I have attended

Houston, Aug. 2004 at Cynthia Wood Pavillion
My first concert anywhere, and it was wonderful

San Antonio, March 2005 SBC Center
It was a great concert, with the meet and greet, meeting so many grobies and talking about Josh.

Houston, March 2006 Toyota Center
This was an especially good concert for me, because as Josh was walking thru the audience, he came by and touched my arm. I was so excited... The meet and greet we had was an especially good one for me, since we had a meeting before hand to fill the goody bags. Lots of fun...

Anaheim, Aug. 2007 at Honda Center (The Pond)
This was such a special concert, because we got to go "Home" to California. I got to meet Josh's Parents, and Brian Avnet at the meet and greet. I also had a chance to talk to his mom for a time. I can see where Josh gets is super personality and love for others. It was a wonderful experience for me. Now if I could just meet Josh in person. (sigh)

I didn't think he could get any better, but...

It was far too long ago! I was 14 and had fallen in lve with his first CD and was falling in love with Closer. I never thought he'd come to a relatively small city like mine, and when we found out he was coming, my Nana and I called right away. Thank goodness we did because apparently the concert sold out in 20 minutes!! When we got there I was so excited, but for some reason nervous. My Nana and I ended up sharing an elevator with a few ladies from the Friends of Josh Groban who were very nice (and lucky enough to have been able to see him at all North Maerica locations if I remember correctly). One of the ladiesave me a JG pin that I wore on my dress and then treasured until the day it sadly went missing. So If that wonderfull lady happens to read this, and even if not, thank you! That gesture meant a lot to me. His opening act was great, though I was being too impatient to fully enjoy them. When Josh finally did start to sing I was jsut blown away by how beautiful his voice was, it was even better and richer in real life!

April ...first tour...Tampa, FL

Backstage passes, for the first tour in 2004, would be won by writing a poem..Well, I knew I was no poet so I wrote a funny poem to Josh and wrote it in Irish Brogue...
Driven' Ta' Distraction O'r The Singin' O' Me Josh
Well, not only did I win... BUT...BUT... he called me to tell me I won. I was soooo excited
My sister and I did meet him and probably occupied too much of his time when it was our time to have pictures, signature. and the like. In the old days there was no limit on pictures taken or things to sign..it was fun, fun, fun Peggie
