Awake Concert
So, a friend of my moms found out that I am a huge Josh Groban fan. She talked to a friend of hers who worked with Josh Grobans team and was able to get me a pass to the meet and greet before the concert. I wore my Awake t-shirt that I had gotten either at an earlier concert or online. When I finally got up to the front of the line to see him he said 'Hi!' and then he saw my shirt and said 'Who's that guy on your shirt?' Thankfully I wasn't too tongue tied and replied, 'Oh he's just some guy. You probably know him.' We posed for a picture and my mom's friend said something to the effect of, 'Aw! What a cute couple.' Josh replied with something like 'But she looks like she could be my little sister!' He gave me a hug and said 'Enjoy the concert... again!' The concert was amazing. Josh also has a wonderful sense of humor. He asked the audience if there were any male fans in the audience and one guy up in the balcony yelled something. Josh said, 'Wait, I have male fans? Show yourselves!' To which he followed up with, 'Only kidding. I think that's my brother up there.' The concert was great and I was sitting with great people to enjoy it with.
Awake tour
My husband bought 4 tickets for me for xmas, the 2 of us along with his mother and our daughter-in-law, the concert was to be in March. Sadly, he passed away in that Feb, our son went instead, it was an amazing concert, and the music of Josh has helped me get through it all. How can you stay sad when there is such beautiful music in the world? Now I can't wait for the next tour, so our Granddaugher, who is 9, can come along, she is a huge Josh fan too.
Awake Concert
I went to my first concert (ever!) in February of 2007 when Josh was on his Awake tour. I live close to Chicago, and the concert was taking place at the United Center. Currently, I attended a Baptist college in Wisconsin, and pretty much everything is against the rules there, so I had to secretly drive home and then go to the concert because I could have gotten into some serious trouble if anyone at school found out about it.
My mom had joined the FOJG club a few months earlier in order to score some decent seats at the concert. It was the first concert she had been to in a long time, and it was also my sister's first concert she had ever been to! We ended up having row 6 seats, which were fairly decent (at least in comparison to many!), although the really, really good seats were the chairs on the stadium floor facing the stage.
First concert was a Josh concert!
Mellon Arena + Josh Groban = AWESOME!!!
We had a ladies' night; me, my mother, my 2 sisters and my grandmother. It was the second time that I'd seen Josh in concert and I was so excited! His voice was amazing and I liked how he always interacted with the crowd. Of course the concert wasn't long enough....yeah, I'd keep him going all day if I could (LOL) but sadly all good things must come to an end, well, or so they say. It was a wonderful night because I was there with my family and I truly enjoyed myself. So, thanks Josh for another really awesome performance...sincerely.
My first Josh concert
The only Josh concert I attended was February 24, 2007 at The United Center in Chicago!!! We had a stress filled time driving there in the freezing rain and snow. We had to pull over a couple of times to break off the ice from the wipers and door handles of our van. We saw cars and trucks sliding off the highway. Driving at 30 mph on the highway, made us wonder if we would ever make it to Josh's concert on time!!!
At the concert, during Angelique's performance, a lady in front of me turned around and told me to be quiet, that she had paid for tickets, and wanted to hear the show. I was very hurt and embarrassed. I thought it just figures, when I have looked forward to Josh's concert for so long.
The sound system at The United Center was perfect!!!!! I felt like Josh was singing to me!! The concert seemed to last l0 minutes. I think this concert seemed rushed because of the weather, though no mention of the weather was made.
First time seeing Josh in concert
We Shook Hands
March 1st At the Wachovia Center. He was brilliant and he did his walk through my section. I was so thrilled. I shook his hand. He really smiled at me. I was one of the few African American fans that were there so I kinda stood out. Josh is as gorgeous in person as he is in the magazines.
First concert experiance
It was a christmas gift from my parents. Me and my mom took the 7 hour car ride to Chicago from Minneapolis to see Josh Groban's Awake concert. I was supper stoked for my first concert experiance at the age of 17. I remember it was snowing in Chicago when we arived at the arena. We walked in and climbed up the stairs to the nosebleeds. We were seated directly stage left. And could only see the big orange curtain and a little bit of the back stage. Me and my mom waited patiantly in sileance as we watched the people around us and any signs of Josh Groban himself. I was so excited for the concert that I had butterflies in my stomach. Then at last the curain parted and "Mai" had started. It was amazing. Though our seats could have been better we saw so much. It was a great concert I could have seen it a million times over.
Some Time Ago
Awake
My husband knew I just became a HUGE fan and surprised me with tickets to his concert in the Netherlands. Seats in the first row of the highest balcony... There was not one free seat in the HMH...
Concert was sold out. I wished I knew how others got their places in the first rows below. I think I do now.
I was happy the volume was high enough to cover my voice while I was singing along. I just couldn't control myself not to do it but I hope nobody could hear me. At least nobody told me to shut up...
I regret not having any photo's from that evening.
I also became a fan of Lucia Micarelli then.
I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to be there, thank you so much, Josh, Lucia and all the others. THANK YOU W(...)
