Awake Live
I have not seen any concert of Josh Groban live. But how I wish I could one day if given a chance. I only seen his concert "Awake Live" in DVD and I keep on watching it again and again whenever I wanted to, everywhere I go...in school, office or even travel coz I always bring with me my portable player. It feels like I was in the concert when I give applause to Josh in his live concerts or even shows.
More on Josh Groban
I have seen Josh Groban 3 times in concert and will continue as long as he does! To be able to see him sing is such a thrill. You can really see his soulfulness that comes out in his music. I would truly love to know what is behind the words of his songs, I just know that there is a story there! I really don't know what years I have seen him in concert, only that he gets better everytime!
Josh's concert in Anaheim
I saw Josh sometime I believe in 2008. He was playing at The Honda Center in Anaheim California. It was cool how he rose from the stage. I had no idea how funny Josh is. The piano rose from the stage and he stood on the bench as it was rising and said "This should be a ride at Disneyland". He also sat down in front of the crowd and signed autographs. I remember he had a little girl next to him and he handed her a pen and showed her how to write his autograph so she can sign for him at the opposite side of the stage. I knew at this point that not only is he a good singer but he also was a down to earth kind of person. This is the kind of person you can hang out with and have a few laughs with. I've been waiting to see him in concert again. I hope his new tour starts in L.A.
You're awesome Josh.
He can sing beautifully...even with a woman's hand in his pant leg!!!!
My first and only Josh Groban concert was in Columbus, OH back in 2008. I am a Josh music addict. I can be listening to Il Divo, or Sting or Bocelli or almost anyone and, after a few songs it is "Well, time to dial in Josh on the Ipod."
Anyway, this was my first live concert and it was in a big arena...probably 20K people and filled to the brim. I really did not expect that Josh, on stage all by himself, could possibly sound as great as he does on his albums. Wow! Was I wrong about that! I was just blown away by the power of his voice in person and his endurance to sing, by himself (for the most part...Angelique was there for a few songs!) for 2 1/2 hours. What energy and charming stage presence!!
The song I loved most was when he sat on the edge of the stage and sang 'Not while I'm Around' from Sweeney Todd. That was the first time I had ever heard the song and he did it just with piano accompaniment. His voice was so clear, strong and pure...just beautiful!! There were women all around him during the whole song, below the stage, and he was touching hands and interacting all the while he was making this amazing sound. Never broke his stride!
Front row seat
Cleveland Gund Arena, was supposed to sit in row W on the floor and someone in the first row had an extra seat. The usher could see that I was really, really excited to be there so he asked the lady if I could sit with her and she said yes.
He was on the stage right in front of me. It was the best night of my life.
The lady and I stayed in touch for quiet a while and even ended up going to a Pittsburgh concert together.
Good memories.
I will NEVER forget !
BAM with Paul Simon ...
Went to see the Paul Simon show at BAM ... fantastic! I've read that Paul Simon has influenced Josh. They played and sang together, fabulous! Remember Paul saying that he was the only one there who, apparently, didn't listen to himself when he was little!!!
I was going to go to the back door to see Josh leave the theatre, but didn't ... also didn't take any pictures. (Not sure about the whole "fan" thing.) Anyway, I was very glad to see that some people did do just that and they took pictures ... thanks!
Was really great to be there. Can most definitely see/hear Simon's African influence ... Lullaby is a lovely, heartfelt song.
Green Bay, WI - Hug from husban hanging up on Josh in Disney!!
So my family and friends went to Disney in Dec of 07. My family had to split from the group becuase my youngest son was too small to go on a ride. Later, my boys had to go to the bathroom, so I took them (arrgghh). While I was in the bathroom w/my boys, my friend called our phone and my hubby answered.. She said they were on their way to meet up w/us. On the way to meet us, who does she run into? JOSH!!! OMG...What are the odds?? Anyway, she asks him to walk w/her to meet me. He said no (sigh).. so she asked him to call me - he did (love ya for that!). My hubby answered the phone cuz I was still in the bathroom w/my boys.. Josh asked for me and my hubby didn't believe it was him and hung up on him.. (yes, we're still married). My friend later told me what happened and I wanted to kill my hubby! He's lucky he's still alive! I was soooo sad.. Anyway... I made the best of it and made a sign at the Green Bay, WI concert, in which Josh read aloud.. It read "I'm the Linda you called at Disney who's hubby hung up on you.. May I Please have a hug?" I got the best HUG ever!! Thank you, Josh!!
Paul Simon American Tunes
The First time I have ever saw Josh Groban perform was at BAM
(Brooklyn Academy of Music) on April 27, 2008. I was so excited to
know that Josh was in the same building with me and only seconds
away from me. when my taxi dropped me off in front of the building
I walked in and I met some of my fellow grobies that I have never
met before it was so nice to visit with them. About 7:45 I went to
the balcony to be seated, the concert was suppose to began at 8:00 but
was running a few minutes late. This concert was dedicated to
Paul Simon. the groups that performed were Olu Dara, Grizzly Bear,
The Roches, Gillian Welch, Paul Simon and of course Josh Groban
It was fun listening to some of Paul Simon's old hits of the past.
The other groups were fantastic, even though I was not familiar
with them and their music. I Could hardly wait for Josh to appear
when he did fans in my row were screaming for Josh! I will never
forget it! and I saw Josh looking up towards the balcony it looked like he was trying to see the fans there were screaming, I was wishing he could see me I guess I will never know if if saw me or not.
