A Tale of Two "Comets"!

  • A Tale of Two "Comets"!

My sister and I saw "Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812" back in Oct. 2016 on the second night of Previews. We sat on a banquette on stage.
I just saw the show once again seated in the 4th row of the Front Mezzanine and it was a totally different experience! Not only from a different vantage point but the show had really changed remarkably. Even better! Principal characters seated themselves and interacted amongst the stage audience more than previously. Josh was more expressive not only acting/singing but instrumentally. And a new song had been added at the very end of the production clarifying the appearance of the comet as a symbol of Pierre's newfound enlightenment. It's a shame the Tony Awards DO NOT yet include the category "Best Original Song". That's a win "Dust and Ashes" overwhelmingly deserves.
