Last night I could not fall asleep. It was 2 in the morning and I was still 'bright-eyed and bushy tailed.' I thought I'd catch 10 minutes of TV. I know, I know, TV is supposed to be stimulating, but I decided to chance it. Call me crazy, but while surfing the channels I came across a PBS station that was televising "Reading Rainbow." OK, let's recap. Two in the morning. A program aimed at elementary kids is playing. Is there a new trend starting I haven't heard about? I can just imagine a nine-year-old child arguing with his mom at 8:30 in the evening saying, "You don't understand, I have to stay up, this show is educational! I can catch up on sleep during school." Don't get me wrong. PBS channels have some wonderful programs, I think viewership just might increase if there is some juggling of programming slots. Can't wait to see what will be on in the predawn hours tomorrow morning!
