Thanks for listening

My group's events are winding down for the calendar year. We have two next week, then the really big one in Orlando the week after, one more...and then that's it for a while.
Since I've worked on the Orlando event since July, I figured I'd be going. I wouldn't have minded, but I was afraid Josh would be performing in New York the week I was away. So I wrote to Wyatt, more or less telling him Josh was not allowed to be in New York that week. I don't usually do things like that, but I've never been in a position where I could make a direct appeal like that before. I don't know if these appearances in New York in late November have anything to do with that, but I feel almost like I managed to make my voice heard. I'm not even going to the conference now, but I still feel better about that whole week.
That's also sort of why I started this blog. I wrote about that dilemma in the hopes that someone in management would see it. But it's grown beyond just that day. Once I wrote the one entry, I didn't want to stop. Maybe it's because I've been in the habit of keeping a written journal for the past nine years; I don't know. I just know I'm glad I did. It's been great to meet all of you, sharing things only a fellow Grobanite would understand along with what's going on in our lives.
Funny how one thing turns into another sometimes. I started out thanking Wyatt for listening, and it turned out to be thanking everyone here.
