Hi everyone! It's nice to be back. The last several days have been very challenging. Thursday Aunt Bobbie had a stroke. Sh'e recovering. How far we don't know. her personality isn't the same. Friday I received a call notifying me that my father had collapsed. He's doing better now. He's not going to be around much longer. He's literally dying of a broken heart. When mom goes he'll be soon after. Saturday we received word that our neighbor was missing with his snowmobile. Sunday they found him. He was only 24. We're all in a state of shock still. His funeral will be Friday. Yesterday I received a call at 6:45 in the morning from Dave's boss saying that he was in an accident. She didn't know anymore than that. He was taken to the local hospital in a nearby city. It was determined that he needed surgery. What kind I didn't know. I was also told that they would let me know when he was going to be transported to another hospital for the surgery. 10:05 am came and another call came in that he will be transported and would be at the other hospital by 11:00. Missy, Brian and I went right over. I was able to speak with a doctor and he said that Dave broke his patella (kneecap) into several pieces and that he also has aheart condition. He wasn't sure how serious it was though. We didn't get to see him till 1:25pm. I have been a nervous wreck. He was so drugged up he had no idea what was going on. The doctor told us that they couldn't operate till today. Missy and I were up and over there by 9:45. He still wasn't lucid. He ended up in surgery at 11:40 this morning. We were told it'll be close to two hours. It was three and a half hours. I was becoming panic stricken about three hours into the surgery. It went well even though it was more complicated than expected. His heart is doing fine now. Go figure. Nothing was done for his heart. His knee was shattered into several pieces so she put screws and wire mesh over the patella to hold it in place. He's coming home tomorrow. It might be a challenge to get him to stick to doctors orders. I will be playing nurse along with Missy when she stops by. Brian will be helping too! I'm so thankful for the help Missy and Brian are going to be giving me. It looks like he's on extremely limited activity for the next six weeks.I'm also thankful he's going to be alright. We don't know if he'll be able to keep his job driving a bus but they said that they'll find something for him when he's ready to come back. I am so very thankful that he's alright. I didn't know if he was in critical condition or what! I am so very exhausted so I'm going to say goodnight take one of the tranquilizers that the doctor gave me and try to get some sleep.
