Sad, but true...

Today, I went over to my parents to celebrate my mom's birthday...

My dad and I got to talking before everyone else arrived...
I was not expecting my dad to tell me he was diagnosed with cancer (again). Several months ago, my dad went to the doctor because he had this lump on his tongue... It was discovered after a biopsy, that the lump was cancer. He of course had it surgically removed (just a few thin slices taken off the side of his tongue -- Not noticeable). Anyways, when he was in for a regular routine post-cancer follow-up, another lump was found and biopsied -- Turned out to be cancer (again). So, it's my understanding they're going to try surgery (again). If that doesn't work, they'll probably do chemo.

This is a difficult time for me because my dad has been in and out of the hospital for various things most of my life -- It just never seems to end. After awhile, it gets emotionally draining and takes a toll on the family. Yeah, we pull through, but it takes time.

Why do these things have to happen to such great people??
