WELL I

finally got to London on Tuesday after firstly the train was late, then the bus didn't arrive which I planned to get to Leeds/Bradford Airport - luckily there was another 30 mins later, then the plane was late taking off I thought I'd never get there. BUT I DID YEA!!!

I arrived in London about 6pm and the doors at the Royal Albert Hall opened at 7.15 talk about cutting it close. I'd do it again in a heartbeat though, why because CHESS was absolutely fantastic, brilliant, dazzling I could go on and on and on. I was in the 2nd row on the left of the stage about 10 seats in, I couldn't have had a better view. It was perfect.

Josh was of course the one to watch but everyone from the rest of the company, the choir to the orchestra were so good. The music was wonderful and when Josh sang 'Anthem' at the end of act one, it brought a tear to my eye he sang it sooooo well. He got a standing ovation, (what else would he get).

My friend who came with me liked the music, didn't understand the story! I had to explain the whole show to her during the intermission!

Marti Pellow was excellent as the arbiter he's always had a good voice (I have a friend who's a big fan of his, she'll be disappointed she wasn't there). And although Idina Menzel was very good as Florence, I personally preferred Kerry Ellis' singing voice. I hope Josh is able to do more shows like this in the future as he's also a talented actor. I had a great night and it was even better than I had imagined it would be. I wish that everyone who wanted to go could've been there. (They filmed it though so look out for the DVD which I'm sure will be coming soon). I never wanted it to end.

Alas it did and I'm home again in Yorkshire where the sun is shining and I have my memories of a wonderful night. (Big sigh).
Take care everyone
Jo
