Done with the house-sitting

"La la la la la la, la la la la la la, la la la, la la la, la la la." It's kind of a bad habit. I find one song I really like, or that I can't stop singing, and I play it over and over until I can't stand it anymore. It drives my sister crazy. Well, just my choice of music in general drivers her crazy, but then to have to hear one song for hours on end really gets on her nerves. She and I are so very different. But now she's on her way back to school, so no worries. I think I'll take a little road trip to visit her this year. To the topic of no more house-sitting. I do enjoy it, it's like a mini vacation for me. This house is so unique and the location is a superb example of the majestic beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The house was built in the early half of the 20th century. It's very small, originally a vacation cabin. Large, much newer houses surround it on all sides, and it's one of the only houses with any yard. Two very old Chestnut trees provide privacy and shade, and I spent many a day off relaxing on the deck with my books. Another bonus, the house is on the water, with a dock and beach access. In the beginning of my house-sitting stay I'd go on evening jogs and then afterwards I could wade into the frigid water until my legs were numb. It was great to not have sore muscles the next day. I was there for over a month, while the family traveled to Asia. They travel pretty often to faraway places. I always enjoy the experience of taking care of their house, because the area is so serene and peaceful that I get caught up in it all. This time I was feeling a tad bit homesick by the end. My main form of employment is as a live-in nanny, and I started to miss the kids, and I know they missed me, so I'm glad to be home now. Ha, I just remembered I'll be house-sitting for someone else next month. Oh well, another change of scenery will do me some good I suppose.
