I went to Missy's to have our movie night. We were watching Journey to the Center of the Earth. we were about half way through when I received a call from my dad. He said that he had fallen outside Ivar's restaurant. He fell off the curb and fell face down onto the asphalt. A couple stopped to help him and didn't think he should be driving. We headed out. I arrived to see dad with his face petty baged up. His right eye was swollen, his nose was swollen terribly as well as cut and bleeding something awful, his forhead cut as well as his chin. He had blood spatters all over him. Missy checked him out and he should be fine except for the scrapes, bruises and black eye. We got him home and resting. He insisted he was fine but I think his pride was bruised too. Dad has fallen so many times in the last two months and yet there's nothing I can do about it. He worries me something awful. My heart stops when I get calls from him wondering if something has happened to him or not. I'm confused because dad refuses to see that he should be in an assisted living home. Yeah, that'll be the day. How does one get a soon to be 94 year old to understand that he needs extra help? The family has tried everything we can think of to get him to understand. We haven't made any progress in this area at all. My sister, younger brother and I are at our wits end with dad. We can't force him to do anything. He's a VERY stubborn old man. I have done enough ranting for one night. Thanks for listening.

Have a good night.

EDIT: Ok now Dad's talking about practicing his golf swing. He's a very determined man or should I say stubborn. He is doing alright today. His nose and eye are still quite swollen and tender which is to be expected. His hands are also sore. They must have broken his fall.
