And so it goes...

Well folks, Life can certainly be a kick in the head can't it? No sooner do I arrive back at my apartment from being out of town when my electric wheelchair decides it has to break! So now it's in the shop and my parents are looking for a new one to purchase. Okay, so I've had it since 1982 but the day I get back??? Wait, it gets worse...I sent a Christmas card to a previous provider I "casually" kept in touch with but didn't receive one in return which I thought was strange. Now I know why...I just received a note from her husband that she had passed away last September from lung cancer. Needless to say, I am stunned! From what I understand she no sooner found out then 10 days later she passed way. She never knew it but she was one of the best providers I've ever had. People don't seem to understand that being a provider is more than just the job. It's also about getting along (or having chemistry). If the two of you don't get along it can be pretty miserable for the both of you. Thankfully, even though we weren't the best of pals we did get along pretty well and that made All the difference. In fact, the one and only time I've gone out for New Year's Eve was with her. So rest in peace Kay...thanks for the photos and for making a difference. I will never forget you. Good night guys, and I send big grobie hugs to you. Take care, Roger
