RECIT AMELIE – CONCERT GLASGOW 16/10/2011

I arrived at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall at 5.50 pm with my twin sister Clarisse. At 6.10, Darren came into the hall, checked the badges and asked the 10 winners to follow him backstage. Then he explained to us the rules to apply (no kiss, a photo per person ...). At 6.20, he walked out of the room to get Josh. Besides the lucky M&G winners, there were 3 guys waiting for Josh, in a corner. One of them was Jai Mc Dowall, a Scottish singer who won the fifth series of Britain's Got Talent.

Among the fans, excitement was mounting by the minute, but when Josh entered the room, everybody kept silent. I must admit I was quite nervous. When it was up to me, I came close to him and said hello. I shook his hand and gave him my letter. He told me “Nice to meet you”. I went blank and when he looked at me, I realized that I had forgotten to answer. I told him that I went to his concert in Paris on the 3rd October and that it was a tremendous show! He answered “Oohhh yes!” with stars in the eyes. It was so magical! I gave him a cd booklet to sign. Then we took the picture. I told him that French Grobanites love him and he answered “I love you too and merci beaucoup!” with his charming accent. I thanked him. I waited for my sister and left the room. I feel grateful for this opportunity to meet him and exchange a few words with him.

The concert started with the « Straight to you » instrumental version. Then Josh appeared on the stage. He sang “Changing colors”, “February song”, “You are loved”, “Oceano”, “Alejate”, “Bells of NYC”, “Higher window”, “Alla luce del sole”.

Josh has an incredible voice and is so funny. The band is really good and talented too! They danced with a part of the audience.

Then it was “Mi Mancherai” with the fabulous Christian Hebel, “Live and let die” and ”Voce”. Voce was a nice moment because people waved up their glowsticks and danced.

Josh answered a few questions from the audience. Then, he sang “Galileo”, “Wandering kid”, ”Weeping” and “Machine”. He went on with 2 marvelous songs “Broken vow” and “Play me”. He invited Jai McDowall to perform live with him on “To where you are”. It was a really good duet and they both received a standing ovation.

The show ended with “You raise me up”, “Hidden away” and “Smile”. It was a wonderful concert.

At the end of the show, the band was really kind, took pictures with the fans and chatted with them (A big thank you to André, Christian and Darren). It was a pleasure to meet them.

I’ll never forget my first time in Glasgow!
