Short Entry

on July 2, 2008 - 5:43pm

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy 4th of July. I'm off for two whole days and won't get to FOJG before the 5th. Have a safe and happy holiday!

I'll try to post a picture of my "josh" tattoo when I can get someone to take a picture of it. (hard to take one of your own ankle) Kinda awkward!

Happy July

on July 1, 2008 - 1:55pm

Kind of a sad start to my morning. I found out than Don S. Davis, from Stargate (tv show), passed away over the weekend. I admired him, as he was very approachable when I met him, and was sad to hear it.

Another day, another dollar. Another contest not won. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I enjoyed watching the Mandela concert last night, although it was clearly edited! Find myself wondering if I will order it on DVD when it comes out. Knowing me, I probably will. I realized though, that I don't know much about Mandela's life, so today at work I grabbed two books about him. One his autobiography, the other an authorized biography. That should about cover it. I guess that's one of the perks of working in a library ;)

The new ink is doing better today, not as tender. It's slightly bigger than all the others, so it's a little longer in healing. To those who want to know, my "josh" tattoo is a JG made to look like a treble clef. A nod to my love of music in general and to Josh's music. I wanted something subtle, something that had two meanings in one. I guess I'm not the type to put someone's face on my body permanently. Kudos to those that do that--definitely braver than me! I was going to do the opening bars to a song, like I've seen before, but I couldn't pick!! So, I went with the treble clef.

About an hour to go left at work, and then it's on to the second job. Just gotta get through today.....

Gorgeous Summer Day

on June 30, 2008 - 11:28am

Just got finished watching clips of Josh from the Nelson Mandela concert. What a ROCK STAR! He just looked so at ease and pleased with the whole event. I'm really hoping that when VH1 airs the concert tonight, he isn't cut! Weeping actually made me tear up. I was very proud of him, such a difference from a few years ago.

We moved into our temporary site here at work and boy, is it cold!! I literally can't feel my toes. It's made it especially hard to wear skirts too, and since that's my summer wardrobe, i'm having to be creative in layering skills. Can't layer too much as it rubs against the new tattoo I got Saturday and makes it hurt all the more! This makes my 4th and last tattoo. I'm out of ankle space, plus the prices went up. I have all the things that have significance in my life: family, music (and yes, the josh reference is there, it's just hidden), England and Egypt. All my joys. My friends say that my tattoos are as ecclectic as me, and that if you know me--the ink makes sense. I guess that's all that counts.

Went to see Kung Fu Panda (hysterical) and the previews showed an ad for America's Greatest Dog. Not so unusual, except when the woman goes "his favorite music is Josh Groban". That made me laugh and pay attention all at the same time, you never know when the boy's name will pop up.
Like so many others I went out and bought InStyle Mag just for a the peek inside Josh's house. And then I forced several friends to read the article too. Must share you know. Everyone laughs at the same three spots that I point out: the crossword puzzle he's doing, the trivial pursuit game and the fact that he's a reader. Why do they laugh? Cause I'm a nut about all three things. I think being a librarian lends itself to liking those things sometimes. I realize the pics are probably staged, but come on, let me dream a little. I could actually carry on a conversation with the guy without "gee, I think your music is great" as the only thing I could thing of to say. That didn't quite come out right, but I think you all know what I mean.
Sometimes I think i only make sense in my mind.

I should probably get back to work, break time is over. More Instyle to share.....
