I FOUND IT! The house I want!

on May 15, 2009 - 6:09pm

So knowing the way things go for me someone will come and yank it out from under me but for right now I've found the house I want us to move in to! It's not far from here - in a town called Plainfield - closer to where I work but not too far from Minooka that Caryn would have a long drive. It's a small house, quaint, almost Gingerbread looking on the outside but I just love everything about it! So now ... I'm scared to freaking death that I won't get it. It's lease to own - and I'm not sure I'd be able to afford to buy it on my own next year but I sure would love to try ... I have some pics to show you. The colors are really strong in the house so a few walls would need some paint but otherwise it's fantastic! Okay ... at risk of jinxing myself here are the pics ...

1. The outside of the house:

2. Foyer/Living Room:

3. Dining Room:

4. Stairway to the upper level:

5. Master Bedroom:

6. Another bedroom:

7. Upstairs bathroom:

8. The back yard! I love it!
Room for the babies to play!

So I really, really want it. I'm scared - and not that I'm just sitting here whining because I'm not but you KNOW how my luck goes! It's awful. If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have none at all. But I'm going to remain hopeful to my very last breath. Please send good vibes guys.

TGIF

on May 15, 2009 - 4:55am

I'm so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open to type this. If it ends up not making any sense I apologize because I'm nearly numb with fatigue - and that would be acceptable if I'd been doing some strenuous activity in the recent past but no ... just everyday stuff. Work was so quiet last night and while I hesitate to complain ... the night dragged! LOL I came home and was too bored to even sit on the computer so I got into my jammies and watched HGTV until I crashed - probably around 9 ... THAT WAS AWESOME! I sure love doing that anymore. I watch House Hunters and House Hunters International. Some of these people just have hundreds of thousands of dollars to throw away. I love helping them decide what property to buy! LOL Baby boy wasn't home last night but I talked to him on the phone. He'll be back home tonight and then we can have a cuddle. He's such a good boy. For now.

So we looked at another house - perfect except that it only had one bathroom. ONE bathroom wouldn't be bad if there were only a few people living there ... well we may have to make do with it. We're going to look at another house today so I'll let you know what goes on there. I really liked that other house (the one with one bathroom) ... it had a fabulous back yard! I'll get back to you!

Have a great Friday now, okay?

Moving?

on May 12, 2009 - 7:21pm

Maybe not. We still haven't found a place yet. I'm getting sick of looking quite frankly and wish it was over and we were moving next weekend but no such luck. We saw a 3 1/2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house a few days ago but the house was OLD ... it was built in 1868! Not that when it was built poses much of a problem but it doesn't have air conditioning! That will make it one very hot place in the summer ... and with Mike who is a BIG boy and the babies I would rather have a place where we could all sleep comfortably at night during the summer. I think we'll fill out the application and try for it anyway by the end of the week so that if we don't find a place better then we'll have a place. It's right here in Minooka - I wasn't too keen on staying in Minooka, kind of looking forward to someplace closer to work but if we can't find a place there then we can't ... but it's better to have a place then NOT have one. We were supposed to look at three places tomorrow and one of them won't be available until the end of June which doesn't work for us and the other one already had two people interested in it and they said they didn't allow pets even though the ad said they did. ::sigh:: I'm tired of looking. We may be stuck with the century old house and no air conditioning! Oy!

** edited for Nessa ** we could probably get window units but they ae expensive. Having central air installed would be thousands of dollars ...

OUCH!

on May 11, 2009 - 5:05pm

So I saw Dr. Reilly tonight for my knee pain - it's been hurting since I whacked it during that car accident on Good Friday - he just shakes his head at the state of my knee. "How you're still walking on it is a mystery to me." He says. "You really pissed it off when you hit it in the accident. You have such bad arthritis!" So his cure? He stuck a very long needle into it and injected cortisone to take down the inflammation and swelling. OUCH! When he went to stick the needle in he says: "look away." Oh dear God. Well he thinks it may be a temporary fix but he says; "You need a knee replacement, you know that, right?" ::sigh:: yes I know. I also know I'm too young for it. The replacement knees only last about 10 to 15 years so that's why they don't do them on the "younger" patients. They are hoping I can wait it out about 10 years but I don't think Dr. Reilly thinks my knee will last another 10 years. It's just not a pretty picture.

***edited for Lynn***

Thank you for your kind comments! I'm going to stretch it out as long as I can. It's mostly okay but I think I have a high tolerance for pain. Just ask Josh ... heh heh ...

THE WEEKEND IS HERE!

on May 9, 2009 - 6:04am

Friday night - yawnfest - but I did get to watch some HGTV. So what's in store for today? Well I'd like to get some packing done ... no we haven't found a place yet and the house I was going to look at last night fell through because the owner was "tired of showing it" so he gave it over to the realtor to schedule showings. Anyway, Char and Caryn say that the stairs on the inside of the house leading to the upstairs are treacherous and may pose to be a potential hazard not only to the babies (they are short stairs and steep) but also to the people who live in the house with huge feet. That would be everyone but me and baby boy. So the actual best house of all so far is being shot down by the people who spend the most time in the house running the stairs and I can't argue with that. So we're going to look at another one today in Plainfield. It's a nice area - midway between my work and Caryn's. Nothing close for Mike and Char to walk to - well really thee is but they won't think so - but it looks to be a nice place. We'll have to see. I've been having weird dreams again. Can't even really make heads or tails out of them but they are just a conglomeration of weird. Last night I dreamed that Darrin (my rotten ex) asked me the name of the guy who sings really, really deep in a particular song (uhhh okay?) and then suddenly I was at one of the group's concerts and it happened to be in a gymnasium type thing ... again uhhhhhh okay? Well I don't understand it but who knows how my goofy brain works when it's resting?

So tomorrow is Mother's Day here in the U.S. I plan to make it a good day for my girls - it's their second Mother's Day. Caryn has to work at four which really kind of sucks but a paycheck is a paycheck. I already printed out a cute pic of her and Emma to put into a frame I bought ... I think she'll like it. It'll be FROM Emma. I was driving baby boy to school yesterday and I told him I was going to make a big breakfast for the girls and he said; "who's going to make a big breakfast for you?" He's just so sweet and loving I can't stand it.

So I got the new People mag and found a story in there about another 11 year old that killed himself because he was being bullied at school. I'm just devastated by this. I ... I can't even think of that with baby boy because I tremble and cry but I have to help him and take precaution that this doesn't happen to him. I couldn't live after that, I really couldn't.

CHANGING THE SUBJECT NOW!

My wrists have been hurting a whole helluva lot lately. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome sucks ... I bought heat patches and put them on my wrists at bedtime last night and the worst of the two actually felt pretty good when I woke so maybe it'll help. There is a heat patch ROLL that I think I should use for the wrists, the "patch" will stay on better I think.

Hmmm ... there was something else I was going to tell you and I've gotten myself way off track and forgotten what I was going to say. Well I'll come back and write more if I think of it. Have a great Saturday and an even better Mother's Day if it applies to you!
