Early Anniversary/ Thank you

on October 6, 2007 - 8:29pm

My husband surprised me with a nice cantonese dinner tonight. We celebrated our 31st anniversary tonight because he goes to work at 4:30 am and doesn't usually come home till 7:30-8:00 pm. We had a wonderful time. We rarely spend time together so when we do it's great!

On our anniversary I'm going to be at Target when they open to pick up Josh's NOEL CD. I can't think of a better gift than that! Well, I could but that's the next best thing plus I'm being realistic.

I wish to thank those of you that have been lending me support. It means a great deal to me. I never realized what this website could do for me and what I could do for others in the way of support.

Parent Worries

on October 5, 2007 - 7:31pm

I really need to listen to Josh big time right now. I visited my mother today and she's slipping further away from us. She's not expected to make it to Christmas. Every time I go to see my Mother it's gets harder and harder It breaks my heart. If I hadn't said it before my mother has Alzheimer's. She's gone down hill real fast in the last three months. She no longer speaks,is bedridden and she's lost so much weight there's very little to her.

My father is also going down hill just in the last two months. He had a temporary heart problem and just this week he was diagnosed with hydrocephalus- fluid on the brain and he also has brain deterioration. This man refuses to believe that he has a problem and continues to drive and it's a worry. He says that if the keys and car are taken from him he will go out and buy another car. I'm afraid he could have a bad accident and could kill someone else or himself. He's threatening to cut us kids out of his life if we don't leave him alone and that won't solve anything cause then we really can't keep track of him. I'm going to call the DMV and see what recourse we might have so that his license will be taken away. I know he won't drive then. It's tough having parents that never dealt with this kind of situation with their parents. He has no clue the pain and heartache we go through everyday worrying about his well being.

I felt the need to tell someone and you were it. I promise I won't do it very often. It's just that I'm feeling really low and very helpless. Thank you for listening I really appreciate it. It's definitely a Josh pick me up night.

Have a great weekend!!

Catch Up

on October 3, 2007 - 7:48pm

I came down with the stomach flu so I've been under the weather since monday. I'm glad that I'm up and about now. My dog JR has been hangin out with me which includes taking up 3/4 of my bed. On the up side he has been keeping me warm. I haven't slept much in the last two nights so I'm going to head to bed as soon as I'm finished here.
The weather here has been nasty. Thw weatherman has been saying showers with possible thunder storms. Ha! Ha! The wind has been blowing furiously and rain coming down in buckets. At least it seems that way. Our road has been under water since the rain. We're even getting snow in the mountains already. I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come this winter.

I hope the road workers leave soon. They're pretty noisy. In fact I'm surprised that they're still working. They've been out there since 7:00 this morning.

Have a Joshy night.

Missy's externship

on October 1, 2007 - 6:52pm

Missy went on her interview today. It took about 2 minutes before they accepted her to the Gastorenterology Center for her externship. It took about another hour for a tour of the place. She'll be preparing the operating rooms for minor surgeries as well as assisting in the surgeries, cleaning up afterwards and working in the recovery room with the patients. She is so very excited!! The days and hours are even better mondays, tuesdays, thursdays and fridays,7:30am-6:00 pm. She starts next monday. They also told her that they plan on hiring her on after her externship. The pay starts at 15.00 plus per hour. Oh yeah!! I won't have worry if she'll be able to take care of herself anymore. What a relief.
She was recommended by the director of the medical program at school so that's why she was told they pla on hiring her on afterwards. I guess that's what they have done in the past. What an honor!! I'm busting at the seams!!!!!
Have a great night !!

Seven Wonders of the World

on September 30, 2007 - 10:31am

I don't know how many of you have heard this but it is so true. In this world of ours we have a tendency to take for granted the things that are truly wondrous.
Seven Wonders of the World

A class was asked to list what they thought were the present “Seven Wonders of the World!” Though there were many disagreements, the following received the most votes:
1. Egypt’s Great Pyramids
2. Taj Mahal
3. Grand Canyon
4. Panama Canal
5. Empire State Building
6. St. Peters Basilica
7. Chinas Great Wall
While gathering the votes the teacher noted that one student had not finished her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The girl replied, ”Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there were so many.”
The teacher said,” Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”
The girl hesitated, then read: I think the Seven Wonders of the World” are:
1. To see
2. To hear
3. To touch
4. To feel
5. To laugh
6. And to love
The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The things we overlook as simple and ordinary and that we take for granted are truly wondrous!!
The most precious things in life cannot be built by hand or bought by man.
