I'M SO EXCITED TO BE BACK!!

on October 18, 2010 - 12:06pm

My daughters Carrie and Steph renewed my fojg membership for my birthday last week. I have been away since July. I really missed not being here! I found several of my Grobie friends on facebook, and it's lots fun, but it's just not the same as being here fully immersed in Grobaniteness. I think JG has the most wonderful fans in the world. I have never met any of my Grobanite friends but I consider them true friends.
I had a "Josh Birthday" besides the membership, my son gave me the "Illuminations" CD package and I'm really excited to get that! (as any Grobanite would be!)
I am so excited to be back on fojg and hope to get to know more people!
Just one question.....why does the spell checker on fojg not recognize the word Grobanite???

Remember all the love we shared today......

on November 10, 2008 - 9:35pm

I got a call from my brother yesterday. He watches over my mom. She is 82 years old and lives in a retirement center. She has dementia and is steadily getting worse. My brother was very ill and could not go help her. She needed help cleaning herself up and getting some dinner. I live an hour away and don't get down to see her very often. It took me two hours to break away and go down. Mom was waiting for me in the lobby of the building when I got there. After a big hug we went up to her room. As I walked in, a smell that I would rather not talk about overtook me. Mom is so child-like now, I don't ever get angry at her but that was my first reaction. Well to make a long story short, I cleaned things up, went to the store with her, cooked some TV dinners for us and labeled some old pictures in a photo album. Dementia is hard for me to understand, mom can't remember what day it is but she could give me details of photographs taken 40 years ago. She even remembered the name of her grade school. Well, our visit was wonderful. I let go of my frustrations and enjoyed just being with her. We parted in good spirits. When I started my car and began to drive home 'Awake' began to play in my CD player. As I listened, a flood of memories went through my mind. I was so grateful that I was with mom for just today. Someday we will have to get along without each other but, not today.

Love beng a Grobanite

on July 14, 2008 - 9:34pm

I have to say, two years ago I could not imagine that I could be an open and obvious Josh Groban fan. I mean I have always been obsessed with his music, but not OPENLY obsessed with his music. I play his music so much at home that my eleven year old imitates him. His voice and choice of songs calms my nerves on tough days, helps me get my work on on busy days and sometimes helps me sleep. Now that I am official member of the fan club I am enjoying all the perks and associations that being a Grobanite brings. When I'm at work on my computer, I check the website several times a day just to read the interesting and funny stuff. I've made new friends and enjoy hearing from them. So THANKS EVERYBODY!! GROBANITES RULE!!!!

Brick Wall

on July 9, 2008 - 3:33pm

Some days I feel like I hit a brick wall the minute I get up in the morning. Nothing goes right. In my imagination I picture myself fumbling around trying to find the door in this wall and getting frustrated. There I am running my hand up and down the wall trying to find the door and all I find is more bricks. If you don't understand this analogy, than that's good.I guess everybody has good and bad days.

What's that I hear?

on July 7, 2008 - 1:29pm

Thursday morning as I was cleaning up breakfast I was suddenly aware that 'Awake' was playing somewhere and I did not turn it on. Mind you, I play Josh's music ALL THE TIME but someone else had turned it on today! I walked down the hallway to my son's room and was suprised to find that it was my son, Richard, playing the song full blast on his new sound system. It sounded amazing. I felt like I was at the concert on the second row all over again. I was suprised because Richard is 24 now and his main type of music has been Snow Patrol, GooGoo Dolls and movie themes. So we talked Josh and oo'd and ahh'd over how incredible the arrangements of his song were. He was even singing along when I left. Since then I have been awaken by Josh's music almost every morning. How can I tell him to turn the music down when its Josh Groban playing?
