Toddler's Music Choice

on September 11, 2011 - 9:33pm

The toddler had to take a nap and I offered to lay down with him. We laid down, I covered him up and turned on Illuminations. I turned toward him and he had his fingers blocking his ears as he said "Nooo". I asked what was the matter. He said "you are making noise. I don't want to listen to that music."

It was the beginning of the Detroit/New York game tonight and the opening song for night time football sung by Faith Hill....are you ready for some football.............. He came flying out of the back bedroom and started tumbling and dancing. Now what gives with that business?

I have a lot of work on my hands. Josh Groban vs Faith Hill's football song.

2011-12 School Year

on September 9, 2011 - 8:22pm

It is that time of the year, school begins. For the past 5 or 6 years, my son has had a horrible time with elementary school. He is ADD, but also has many co-morbid disorders that can go with it most people don't know about. All of this and a school system that refuses to go through the motions to make a 504 Plan to accommodate his disabilities is so frustrating. Frustrating for everyone, but mostly the student who just does not understand. Every year going to school was getting worse to the point where he was out of school more than in school. Every morning we went through the same ritual or screaming, crying, complaining about not feeling well to go to school, refusing to get out of the car. Then I would bring him to see his Occupational Therapist.

No More Kids

on September 1, 2011 - 9:20pm

Everyday I say, "I'm not have anymore kids. I mean it." I live in the most chaotic house. My daughter calls it "The Farm". The farm consists of two dogs, five birds, a rabbit, two young boys, a 29 year old daughter and The Man who is like a 12 year old kid. My 12 year old son is like the leader of the pack in the neighborhood. Today when I parked the car I saw my son and six boys behind him coming toward our house on bikes. These boys keep my house busy. Crazy actually. The boys drive me nuts with their complaints, whining, tattling, tears and yelling. So, I walk around the house yelling, "I am not having any more kids. I cannot handle one more."

Maude

on August 30, 2011 - 9:04pm

I watched the video of 17-year-old Maude singing with Josh. His had went around the back of her waist (I said Oh My Gosh). Then when they looked at each other as they sang, I melted down to nothing. That was an amazing performance. Josh was okay too. (joking) The look on Josh's face was one of excitement and amazement all in one. He loved it. It looked like he was going to burst.

Maybe I am totally Josh blind, but I can't remember any other artist having such an effect on the intelligent beings that love their music. I am going to have to look around. It just may be that all of the intelligent beings are FOJG!

Stay tuned.

Miracle of Life

on August 21, 2011 - 9:15am

It is fair time! We are very lucky in that we have a huge tent at the end of the midway called the Miracle of Life. Farm animals! If it sounds cruel or disgusting to have this tent at the fair, it is not set up that way. Local farmers allow their animals who are ready to give birth during fair week to be in the tent. On staff 24/7 are veterinarians and their assistants. The animals are well taken care of. It is quite a learning experience. I have been going through that tent for 15 years and never once witnessed the birth of an animal. That is until last night.
