Time Flies

on February 18, 2010 - 8:04pm

I remember my mother telling me that the older you get,the faster time flies. How right she was. I no sooner get to work and it is time to go home. Each day is like the last. Tomorrow is Friday and it seems impossible. I have nothing exciting for the weekend, but that is normal.

I found out my 18 yr old nephew has been dating a 16 year old girl who says she dropped out of high school. She has been telling quite a few attention getting stories. Sounds like I am going to have to do some investigating.

I better go watch what is left of the Olympics for tonight and then go to bed. Work in the morning.

Confusion Say.....It Again.....

on February 1, 2010 - 9:35pm

With the news I received last Friday of my former boss's wife dying of cancer and the mass media email from the Governor's Office about her proposal to basically force public employees to retire if they will have 30 years of service, I pretty much shut down for the weekend. Spent a couple of hours in bed on Sunday just laying there wondering the what if's. Nothing has been mentioned to me at work. I called one of my fellow workers tonight and we both agreed it would probably be well worth sticking around to watch the elected officials who helped cause the crumbling State to fall into a pit.

Those of us who have been around for several of the State emergencies could write a book, "The Fall of a State - Michigan - How it Happened and Why" or "And You Thought Your Neighborhood Was Safe - Felons on the Loose". Sounds like a series.

Time for bed. Work tomorrow.

Sweet dreams...........

Confusion Say...

on January 30, 2010 - 8:12pm

The Governor announced her proposed cuts to save Michigan's budget. Until budget cuts are made with the members of Congress, State employees should be left alone. We have made concessions and taken cuts for several years while members of Congress have given themselves huge increases. After six years in office, they receive lifetime benefits.

After taking a quick look at what will be given and what will be taken should I choose to retire, Confusion Say: Wait until every word from the Governor is on the board next month and look at my choices then.

I started bagging up my fabric. Moving it to my bedroom closet until MY ROOM is the decorated to my liking.

I am going to do my own taxes again this year. I have had an account for years, but since everything is computerized, I can do exactly what he can for free or next to it.

Goodnight.

I Don't Know How Much More I Can Handle

on January 27, 2010 - 10:33pm

I have mentioned before that I have a very demanding job. Ever since my partner retired, and her position will never be refilled, my workload has tripled. Sending reports out to get typed is not all that needs to be done. My work spaces are covered with papers, files, and orders. I am four months behind. No daylight at the end of the tunnel.

I cried all the way into work this morning because I can't handle the pressure anymore. I guess I am going to have to take a deep breath, go to bed and sleep on it as my mom would say. Tomorrow is another day.

The Big Game

on January 24, 2010 - 9:15pm

My heart is broken....The Vikings lost the game. I had so hoped that Brett Favre would go to the Super Bowl. He is an awesome guy. This man truly loves to play football - heart and soul. You can see it in his eyes. He lights right up. However, he really got beaten up tonight. The last big mistake he made put me down to the floor. I had a flashback of that same mistake he made the last year he played for the Packers. He was so upset with himself.

Oh well, back to the tractor he goes. We will see if he plays next year.
